I think it's fair to say, we have lost our way. Hopefully Franco can find a way back for us, but he will need a few more games, before he really starts to set his stamp on the team, and I'm sure we will pick up more points sooner than later, we really need our players to start being more aggressive, surely they will not want go down with a pathetic whimper........<ok>

Tough game today. I can't help but feel that we need to take the shackles off and get Barrow on from the start. Play one recognised DM (Cork/Britton), Ayew and Siggy just in front of him, and then two out-and-out wingers with Paloschi up top. I'm sick and tired of Taylor being used as a wing back - I'm sorry but he just doesn't cut it going forward - he's a full back and nothing more (but a good full back he is). The majority of our good play today came down Rangel's side - primarily because Rangel is much more comfortable with the ball in tight situations and he knows what to do with it from an attacking perspective. Taylor looks like a rabbit in the headlights to me whenever he gets the ball in an advanced position. We need wingers - we can't rely on Rangel and Taylor to provide our width and go-forward down the flanks, we need real, old-school wingers. Routledge/Montero on the left, Barrow on the right. Pace and trickery on both flanks. I don't understand why, when we have the players to play the formation that served us so well over the past 10 years, we don't play it. I like the midfield diamond, and at times it works, but it frustrates me that when it's not working we seem to still persist with it.

Mainly because he has nobody to pass to because Ayew isn't staying out wide. I lost count how many times he went forward and was doubled up on because Ayew had disappeared.

How do you know what Fer would bring to the side , goals talk and we need players talking .

I don't know what he might bring but neither do you. However, having watched the game today I'm of the view that our problems are much more fundamental than bringing in one player into the midfield. Bringing in one player AND a change of tactics, then quite possibly. As I and others have said, it's the playing of traditional wingers in our side that is missing right now.

I actually hope Fer can make a contribution. I don't care who it is really. But without big changes we are ****ed.

Fer is a utility player , can play holding midfielder ,attacking midfielder , up front or right back , and he can score goals and has a boomer shot . . If Fer turns into another Tabanou or Eder thing I'm going to lose it .For next game we need width , if that means taking Ayew out , take him out . Barrow and Routs or even Montero .
Britton and Cork out for Ki and Fer , just something different and more threatening with width .Taylor out for a game or two replaced by anybody with some sort attacking bone in his body .

We should never be starting with two defensive midfielders in a home game. He has had a bit of criticism lately but I personally think that this game was crying out for Ki. He drives forward when on the ball and always has that bit of creativeness in his forward passing. He might not be to great defensively but in a home match we should only really need Leon for that job.

First time since we were in the championship have we truly looked like a championship side.

Yesterday was such a surprise and was so disappointing. As soon as the game kicked off the only hope we had of getting anything out of the game was a lucky point from a 0-0 draw. We were never ever going to score and never ever going to win. At times it was like kids against men we were so easily dispossessed.

We had little in midfield, less in attack and a muppet in defence.

I stand by everything I've said about Fernandez, yesterday he proved everything I've said about him to be right, imo. He has to be the weakest, flimsiest central defender in the entire football league. Constantly lost, always out of position. They should make a sequel called "White men and Fernandez can't jump". Yesterday he was utter, utter ****e, there's just no other way to describe his performance.

Best thing that can be said is the same I said to my oldest when his team got thrashed last week.

"You did what you could but they were a really good team, bigger, faster, better. Lets go Joe's, I fancy an ice cream"

Perhaps Monk was right to "rest" Fernandez - but was wrong to play Bartley......

My son saw Fernandez in La Parilla last night. I asked him to go and tell him to get in the kitchen and wash some dishes because he'd make a better ****ing dishwasher than a footballer. Awful yesterday, like so much or our team. I'd play Amat before him.

So it's unanimous then, we were crapp once again, and back to our old ways, well it looks to me as if I players think they just have to turn up, maybe they have got too big for their own boots, but serving up such dross yesterday does make you think what the hell goes through these players minds when they look at the table, and then serve up such a gutless performance, what a change from last season......... <ok>

    Yesterday was abysmal no doubt.
However, we went into the game with relatively high spirits on the back of 8 points from the last 12.
I'm hoping yesterday was an off day. Like every time we play Southampton. We've never scored against them when we're at home have we (in Pl), and we stole that away win the other season when we were equally as bad.
    Time to move on methinks.
