Well, this thread would provide as good an example of any, but as you asked so nicely....

For however many years I've posted on this and the old site (must be getting on for 10 by now) there have been a minority of posters who clearly don't want to engage in any sort of chat about football like adults but would rather call everyone who says anything but nice things about Chelsea a **** and generally antagonise over topics likely to be sensitive (Hillsborough and racism spring to mind). The baton has passed over time- CPofL was a genuinely dislikeable character who I believe was eventually banned for repeatedly making crass comments about Hillsborough which understandably didn't go down well with certain posters, both Chelsea and opposition. The current versions, who tend to rotate depending on Chelsea's fortunes, are probably decent chaps in reality but feel a need for whatever reason to try and re-live their heyday, if you can call it that, over an internet forum rather than partake in some light-hearted banter.

Anyway, that's the theory. Some will agree, as I assume you do from your post, others won't.

Yes, obviously. Everyone has a period in their life they consider the best years of their life. I'd like to think when I'm 60 I won't be re-living my teens over an Internet forum.

Who's re-living them? It's only a few blokes telling it as it used to be. Everybody prefers their own era to others. It's normal. <ok>
 
All i know is i have been on here for over 4 years, and in the last 2 years i have seen an exodus of Chelsea posters and its undeniable that sometimes when rival fans come on here, even if they aint wumming, they get verbally abused! Or even if they are wumming like Treble for example rather than partake in some rival banter, its turns ****ing nasty

Banter is one thing. Snidey remarks are another, it gets peoples backs up. We go on other boards and it gets nasty towards us, it's not confined to our board. <ok>

Not the same. Snide remarks are one thing, but calling people *****, threatening them with violence, i know its an internet forum and its 99% bluster, but I have seen it happen. This was all in the last couple of weeks too.

I'm yet to be threatened with violence or invited to meet up with another poster which leaves me feeling lonely on today of all days :cry:

Lol cant remember who it was but someone wanted to meet up with someone else for a fight. I mean ffs
 
For what it's worth, I don't intend for my comments to be perceived as "snidey". I think certain posters just have a particular opinion of me which means I could post just about anything and it would be seen as such.
