Curate's egg day for me. City and Hull FC both at top of their leagues and Sunderland won! But, my neighbour died next door aged 83. Manchester City fan who watched lots of matches with me particularly in the wee small hours . Old enough to see Frank Swift play before leaving Manchester for Aus. aged 16 by as an orphan. Will miss him!
Didn't realise I'd be missed I went to the game, only just got back (went for a few pints in town post match). City were fine, definitely deserved the win, but weren't spectacular. Blackburn were pretty poor.
Diame said Blackburn caused some problems early, Burns insists oh no they didn't it was really easy. He says he's like an older brother to Hernandez as he speaks Spanish he can help him with things here. He says Abel laid the second goal on for him as payback for the balls he's played to him. Says he feels he's playing better but there's more to come. Says he wants to go up as champions, even though second place would still be automatic. Kind of skips around the question of being a second half team.
Sorry to hear that BMB. Its tough to lose old friends at our age....not too many left. RIP old friend.
As someone commented,we have to score first away from home as we have no plan B at the moment. It's a confidence thing that's happened to the team because we have had no Captain Courgeous all season in midfield to rally the troops when the going gets tough and as some of us have witnessed in the flesh, certain heads quickly drop if the chances go begging. Blackburn were poor, but should have levelled it at one a peice. Once we score first, the result is usually never in doubt as Bruce has taught the side how to protect a lead by shutting up shop and won't over commit to simply apease his army of knockers who now want to lick his Harris. Sorry for talking football. Allam OUT
Player ratings from Phil Buckingham, I'd agree with most, though I think Clucas was maybe a 6, one of his poorer games... http://m.hulldailymail.co.uk/Hull-C...fortable-day/story-28732355-detail/story.html
