Interesting that you would put Suarez above him on, as you said, current form for club and country, not that Suarez isn't a great player because I think he is, but Chicharito has a lower minutes per goal ratio for both club and country so surely on current form he should be higher?

 

You are comparing the stats of a playmaking midfielder to a goalscoring forward, who is renowned for his goalscoring record in low level football.

 

Btw, can we stop with this 'Liverpool fans think' sweeping statement. Yes, some LFC fans have made audacious claims about Suarez in this thread, and other claims about Hernandez, but not all of us.

it cant be that suarez is as good as inesta, so lets rule that out.

think you said something about not judging a player by his stats right?

if a player scores 38 goals in 38 games, but all he does is score with no flair.

while another player scored 3 in 38, but gets passed players every match, while doing some stunning skils in every game.

which helped their team more?

stats do help, no matter how you try to make excuses for someones bad stats.

 

p.s iniesta got 13 assists in 30 odd games in the league last year, sort your head out

 

This wouldn't be a fair comparison for goals scored, however for assits you'd expect the 'play-maker' to have more than the 'goal-scorer', wouldn't you?

They're completely different players though, I wouldn't be surprised to see Hernandez outscore Suarez next season as well, but he won't get anywhere near the amount of assists as Suarez.

At Ajax he played more of a lead striker role, at Liverpool he'll play more of a second striker role because he's incredibly gifted at setting the ball up for other people.

But I stand firm on my point that we must give Suarez a full season to prove himself.

This can work both ways, yes he could fail, but then again he could fire like no tommorow, so don't think us waiting is negative for us.

He hasn't played as a goalscoring forward for us though, Dirk Kuyt played that role in our team.

When asked to play as a goalscoring forward though he does it succesfully, as proved in the Copa America where he got 4 in 6.

I listed all of Surez's assists. Which is research.

For the record, I was going off the stats that somebody else posted for Iniesta earlier in this thread. You posted the 13 assists info as I was typing my reply (mine and your posts were at the same time.) If it is 13, I stand corrected.
