I was thinking I would be happy just to stay up and European football would be a bridge too far at this stage. But now I think we may not get close to this chance again so bollocks to it - bring it on. I think we may just fall short though.
It doesn't really matter, enjoy it while you can because nothing beats a European night. Hopefully if Watford do qualify they don't do what numerous teams have done over the years and play weakened sides to concentrate on the league. imho that kinda defeats the purpose of qualifying for Europe at all, I don't get it.
I agree Dev - those chances don't come round often so you have to take them. Watch some teams field weakened teams in the cup next weekend when they're only one match away from the quarters. Pure madness.

Bloody ridiculous huh? Admittedly it's good to finish that extra place up if it's at the expense of a bitter rival or a team you don't like but in general it's a bit meh. The other thing with the cup is that whilst nobody really agrees with the semis being played at Wembley we all love a day out there - it's a bit easier to get there now so it would be good if clubs tried. Mind, if Watford do make it I might be commending the club's who did not take it seriously!
The mistake you are making Dan is seeing it through the eyes of a fan. Clubs are businesses. It's all about the balance sheet and a couple of places higher in the league pays more than the Europa League. I love cups, the best being the FA cup. What the FA has done in letting that competition decline to what it is is a disgrace.
