Russell Martin was truly awful today. When is Alex Neil going to realise that he's become a liability?
I find it so hard to focus in on many players where it is all their fault. It's just as a team, no one know what's happening. Out of our defenders. I'd say Olsson is the worse defender we have. He is beyond bad this season.
.......F**k sake. This reminds me massively of Houghton. We would lose and draw, and he's still say we are progressing.
disagree totally. If you think Olsson is a better defender, you have not watched any games. We lost again today because of Olsson.
Unfortunately, because Olsson is so bad, AN is having to play Bady slightly out of position and so he isn't as effective if he was playing in his normal role.
I've not missed a home game for the last 2 years! We had started to lose the plot before Olsen came on. Martin was out of position so often that West Ham had worked it out and played down that side, it was exactly the same as the Liverpool game. On more than 4 occasions our own players were screaming at him to get into position. He's had it Ryan Bennett would be a better full back than him!
there was so many times, they attacked down the left. Olsson either let them just pass, or didn't bother doing anything.
We pulled back when we should have kept pressing. I sometimes wonder if AN understands his own team. Why does Olsson have such a hard time clearing the ball? Either he doesn't clear it at all or kicks it 20 yards downfield to an opposition player. I'll take the point, but we have to be a cohesive team soon - April is going to be huge.
Fair play to Bilic. The double substitution changed the game imo and with Moses on they posed a huge threat that was not there beforehand and we simply couldn't cope. In truth we were lucky to hang on for a point in the end. The lack of confidence throughout the team was very evident again today and I'm not sure how it can be rebuilt.
Two back to back clean sheets was the pinnacle so far this season, in that department. There's a fragility running through the entire team that didn't exist after the win at Old Trafford and the next few games. And nobody appears to know how to arrest or reverse it Had we clawed our way back today from a 2 -0 deficit, it would feel almost worth 3 points, but to let a two goal lead slip away ......
Confidence comes from results. OK, a win would've been great but at least breaking the losing streak is a load off the players' backs. The Leicester game will be a test for sure.
You see, all this does depend a lot on people´s individual expectations. For me, today represented a step forward, albeit a minor one. We picked up a point when most of those around us didn´t, we dragged ourselves out of the relegation places, and at times during the game we showed the sort of application, fight and desire that has been missing for several games now. Yes, it´s disappointing to give away a two goal lead, but not when you think of the sort of season W. Ham have had. I would have had this one down as a home defeat, before it started, so to get anything, is a bonus I´d say. Unfortunately we can kiss goodbye to anything at Leicester and probably at home to Chelsea, Swansea (a) and the two home games against Sunderland and Newcastle will decide whether we are here again next year or not, as far as I can see, and if we play like we did today, we might just have a chance.
