Always a nice, debatable topic, and it may be hard to finalise a list considering the transfer window is still open, but here is my go: 1. Bradley Wright-Phillips (Charlton) 2. Jamie Cureton (Exeter) 3. Lee Hughes (Notts County) 4. Ryan Lowe (Bury) 5. Sam Baldock (MK Dons) Other players who could have been in contention: Enock Showumni, Gary Alexander, Neil Mellor, Marc Pugh and Benno!!! Thoughts?
As much as i detest the bloke, I'm afraid for me it's Lee Hughes all day long. A genuinely gifted front man who works his socks of for his teammates and Imo easily the most clinical finisher in league one. It came as no surprise whatsoever to me that a premiership club came knocking for him last season. If it weren't for his baggage he'd be playing his football far higher up the footballing food chain. BWP, Mellor and Bowditch are a distant second, third and fourth Imo.
I pretty much agree with Franco, however I can see BWP ending up as top scorer....maybe 25 goals plus this year.
I think Lee Novak will do the most damage for Hudd this year...!! No doubt about it Jordan Rhodes is a good player but I'm happy with my top four...
Hayes, or so I'm hoping. Really rated him a couple of seasons ago, 15 goals and more assists. Btw Saddler top avatar.
I look at it this way... there's no other striker in the League this year that I would swap for BWP at this stage, so I guess I'm saying BWP is the best striker in the league in terms of an out and out goalscorer. Strange because last year all 3 sides that went up had strikers that I probably would've swapped for him... think that sums up why this League seems weaker this year.
Hayes has the potential to be the new Andy Hunt. I just hope that someone steps up to the plate and becomes the new SUPER CLIVE.
If Sheff Utd could of kept hold of Henderson, he would have scored over 30 this season. He will still score over 20, but won't win Championship top scorer!!
What you have to remember with Udders is that Novak and Rhodes' supply line has been cut with the sale of Pilkington to Norwich - a massive loss for them, much bigger than any of our departing players, so will they receive the same service they have in the last 2 years?
jordan rhodes all day long im afraid. all round game is unmatched by other strikers. agree with franco tho, lee hughes in his prime 10 times better than any of the other lot. absolutely clinical finisher someone mentioned danny ward, and martinho said about udders supply line. the guy is sheer class! i am most worried about the terriers.
BWP is the best in this league for me now that the likes of Lambert and Makail-Smith have gone. I like Rhodes but he doesn't have a good scoring record away from the galpharm i think? and to be the best you've got to score goals both home and away
