Let this be a lesson: if you are going to spend 80m+ in a season, and featured the second-worst defense in the league a year previous, perhaps you should not spend all but 9m of it on attack-minded players.

Yeah, we spent what, 8mill or so on attacking players and 24mill on midfield and defensive players.

Chelsea 3-0 up at half time. It's Costa's turn to wear the mask today (all though you wouldn't know it). They do like their masks at Chelsea don't they?

Norwich & Cherries are going to save those crap Northern teams this season. And that's very disappointing.

Not sure why we're dooming Bournemouth to relegation. 12 points in the last 10, 7 in 5...not spectacular form but better than most of their competition.

I'm hoping Chelsea are using all their goals up rather than getting their eye ino_O

Christ that was an awful piece of refereeing. One of the easiest red cards of the season in my view, and he only books Shelvey. Disgusting "tackle".

Ive been watching Jonjo Shelvey's performances since his transfer, as some people commented they would of liked him here. I think he does very little when the opposition have the ball, and runs like he's 5 stone heavier than he is, he's so flat footed, it not surprising he gets booked so often. Like Lallana, who's got a very inefficient running style, too much lateral movement, Shelvey could do with some analysis of his biomechanics. Also like Lallana at Liverpool, he dosent really make himself available to his teammates by running into space, kinda relies on them to find him, which slows play down.

13/01/16 - Steven Caulker leaves Saints (13th), to join Liverpool (8th).

13/02/16 - Saints yet to concede a goal in the six matches since Caulker's departure and up to 6th. LFC slip into the bottom half, down to 11th.

Only winning 3 home games is in trouble.

I see 3 worse teams than Bournemouth in this league.

I think Bournemouth will snatch the last relegation spot as well, they have a terrible run in.

Terrible though it is, they aren't that far from safety. A couple results in their comparatively mild Feb/March schedule and they'll be all but home free when for the run in.

I'll be honest. It's mainly because I predicted Villa, Norwich and Bournemouth some time before Christmas and for the first time ever I might get something right.

Worrying for them, they lost heavily at home to a bang out of form Stoke though. I think Bournemouth had 65% possession, but if Stoke are out of form they are streetwise, I think Bournemouth were just the tonic for them today. Every time I look at the table I'm surprised that Bournemouth have a relative healthy point gap on the bottom 3. That surprise is diminishing, as is the gap.

It's one from Newcastle, Sunderland, Bmouth and Swansea. But I've got no idea which one, I don't make any of them more likely that the others. WBA's win today was massive for them, and despite falling like a stone right now, Palace have long since done all the hard work. They can stumble over the line from here.

I haven't 100% written Villa off yet, but I do accept that it is very, very unlikely. But they have two wins and two draws from five games, and I give them a chance of getting something off of Liverpool tomorrow if Sturridge doesn't start. All that said, I do expect Villa (and Norwich) to go down.

Soare just showed what a textbook red card for serious foul play is.

Good to see Bobby Madeley acting early on set-piece holding as well.

Judging from the MOTD highlights he had a good game. Good to see after the mare he had in the first half of Chelsea v Saints.
