Have to say that I think Taylor may be the most frustrating player I've ever seen. When he needs to run forward at pace hr kills the chance of a move by jogging. His decision making to take a touch when the move cries out for a first time cross is just basic. In all honesty he isn't a premier league full back and the number of times he did the 2 things I've mentioned today done my head in.

    Sick of it now.

No energy in the team today until we were done a goal. Only positive again was Barrow. Gylfi works hard an is a good player but he was tutting when Barrow beat his man and cut in and shot. At least Barrow gets in the position to have a go. Needs to start now and be a bit more inventive with the selection. Honestly think we should go 442.

Barrow MUST start. Our chance creation goes up 200% when he comes on. Rangel cannot last 90 minutes so shouldn't be anywhere near the starting 11. Appalling again today.

If the Coach doesn't change tack and be more positive by employing wingers from the start we are definitely going to be relegated. There I've said it.

    15 Bournemouth 26 -14 28
    No movement 16 Swansea 26 -10 27
    No movement 17 Newcastle 25 -18 24
    No movement 18 Norwich 26 -20 24
    No movement 19 Sunderland 26 -18 23
    No movement 20 Aston Villa 25 -20 16

Just 6 teams in the mix now with Villa the only probable dead cert, The other two places are up for grabs for who wants them.....We are doing a good job of wanting one of the places the way we play the game....

We couldn't have asked for much better results today, it's been perfect for us. We aren't out of it yet, our players are showing fight and improving every game. I reckon you will scrape over the line. Norwich are woeful, I'm counting them in with Villa as certs to go down. I honestly think the other place is a straight shoot out between us and Newcastle.

We have a player on the bench, Fer , that has scored 6 goals in his last 18 Premier League games , in the middle of a failed QPR relegation battle .We need to construct an attacking formation , weeding out players that don't help our attack regardless of their good defensive play .
I'd also bench Ayew for a game , unless we play 2 up front .
    Fab
    Rangel , Fernandez , Williams , Naughton
    Barrow , Fer , Ki , Siggy , Routledge
    Paloschi

I was at the game. The inclusion of Fer would not have made a difference at all imo. We are playing without intensity, pace or attacking intent. Tactics - wrong. Starting lineup - wrong.

We need to get back to possession football, not give the ball away so readily and attack at pace with wingers out wide. You know, like we used to! I honestly don't know if that's the answer but it has to be better than what I witnessed today.

We don't do intensity and pace anymore, as for attacking intent, what's that?...................<laugh>

It's when the team passes the ball forward, runs at the opposition and sticks the ball in the back of the net.

But you're forgiven for not remembering what that's like!

Our two full backs today have made 256 PL appearances between them and assisted on just 9 goals in those games... #swans

My prediction of 34 points for the season is looking good :emoticon-0147-emo:

I'm sure someone else predicted 34.

    Guys, Saints fan in peace

First visit to the Liberty, great set up, managed to park close, found s lovely Pizzeria close buy. All the people were very friendly.

Thanks for a pleasant outing ( the 3 points helped the drive back)

Good luck for rest of season

It's easy to see how Southampton have a good defensive record defending with 10 back at times and trying , mostly unsuccessfully, to hit us on the break. The goal once again came from a cross on Taylor's side of the pitch. How many times has that happened this season? Sad though I am to say it if Rangel can't last the 90 minutes he shouldn't start because bringing on Naughton reduces our ability to make changes elsewhere. The only through ball Paloschi has received in 2 home games was on the right in the first half when he won our first corner. We are absolutely hopeless at playing through balls in the way Chelsea did for their goals tonight. The only one of our players who tries to drive forward is Leon and his legs are not what they were Our midfielders keep playing the ball sideways and do not drive forward at pace. This is why I would like to see Fer start to see if he can supply the midfield drive we are lacking. Routledge had one of his poorer games today. I would like to see us starting with two wingers because Ayew who didn't have too bad a game was quite correctly not playing as a winger
