Should we go down and someone like Stoke are still prepared to pay £10m for Redmond, I think we cash in to minimise other disruption to the squad. I'm not convinced he wants to be here any more, he's only showing flashes of development, and we've other young wingers to come in and put in erratic performances.
Canary Call comes to Not606! Hugely disappointing, but West Ham are joint 6th in the table and pushing for a place in the Champions League FFS. We've broken the losing streak and turned a corner. There was a fair amount of luck in our second goal and no glaring mistakes in defence against a very good team. I'll take that and move on.
Still going to get relegated Despite the positives you have drawn from the game, letting a 2 goal lead at home is simply not good enough. At that point in the game, West Ham had no threat and the only way they would score would be by a balls up by the City defence. However, on came Moses and the cracks began to appear as his pace was too much to handle for our group of slugs at the back.
At least we scored. Interestingly the 2 games that we've got points from (this game) or looked like we might get points (Liverpool game) we've probably played with our least defensive midfield. We need to stop worrying about how other teams play, stop loading our midfield with defensive players and get out there and have a go at teams. We can't defend and the more emphaises we put on defending the worse we seem to play. If we're going to go down lets go down having had a go.
With a bit of luck it might lift us out of the relegation zone! Could do with the teams around us conceding a hatful to improve our relative GD
Bournemouth lost 1-3 to Stoke at home. Newcastle are 3-0 down at Chelsea. It's not over yet. I wanted to see a spirited performance and we got that today. With all the negatives that have been thrown at the team in recent weeks, there is still cause for hope IMO.
Completely agree RER, but that also highlights what a missed opportunity it was. The fact is, we are more than capable of scoring goals against the top teams. We need to work out a way to do it without conceding dozens. We now have two weeks to bed the new defenders in, work with the defence as a whole, and try to build some confidence. Ruddy was excellent today, which tbh is probably the biggest positive after the point against a top seven side.
Just a small matter of a trip to the King Power, before an easy game against Chelsea. It does her a bit easier during March though!!
relegation fight is very interesting this season again. swansea, norwich, bournemouth, newcastle, sunderland , villa unfortunately for you canaries i think it'll be newcastle villa and yourselves if you had won tonight i would have gone for sunderland but looks as though they're putting together a string of performances together when it's needed most
I've been saying for a while that our run of games after the Chelsea game is very good. Points in the next couple of games would be nice, but equally important is sorting the side out so we can go into that decent run of fixtures with some sort of settled plan.
I kind of agree. I'm sure we are going down. If so, Big Sam Keeping Sunderland up while he sends the club he did well for, but they hated him, down. Would be funny. Villa must be down, they are doing better than us resonantly, but surely way too little to late.
unfortunately we'll lose to villa tomorrow so the rest of the teams down there will be even more worried
If you do......the amount of stars in my messages to you will mean you will at least have fun working out what I'm saying to you!
I think we can beat both Newcastle and Sunderland at home but that's about it. Another miserable season in the Premier League.
