    Back to the game...

Patience might be the order of the day tomorrow. Keep them at bay and then hit them hard.

    Come on Saints!

Agree...think they will have a lot of procession but we will stop them getting too many attempts on target then pinch a goal or two especially from set plays where they have been weak

To be honest, my favourite of his outbursts was when he would call anyone a stinker and an absolute shower!

I remember spending quite some time trying to mimic the way he said shower :)

As long as they have a marching band and drum majorettes in their procession, we should be able to outpace them on the break and score one or two

Yes I know what you mean, I think it was probably impossible unless you were T-T himself!

The swans have improved lately but their build up play is extremely ponderous and i think that will suit us just fine. Sit back and hit them on the counter. Romeu, Jordy and Steven to start if fit. I got the impression from Rons interviews that Pelle will be starting..wouldnt be my choice (Long, Mane with Austin off the bench) but i think he's proved that he knows what he's doing by now.

0-1 Mane to score and get back on form.

Pressure is on the Swans today; they have some tough games coming up and need the points. We sit back and hit them on the counter. Could be a another good day for us.

On current form and confidence, we should be too much for them. :emoticon-0138-think

This confident feeling freaks me out............but then I felt like that before the West Ham game. :)

The WHU game was actually the first one for a long while where, oddly, I wasn't very confident of a good result. Even through the bad patch I was confident we'd turn it around. It took longer than I wanted, of course. As I've said before, I'm done with mediocre with reference to Saints. We're a good side. Better than most. Tbf, we should be with the clout we have these days. Be confident.

I think we are an excellent side and worth watching, but inconsistency has cost us....we should finish top 7, but we could have secured that. Leicester have cracked it and taken advantage of the inconsistency of even top sides this season....that could have been us.

Can never be certain of any result this season.

    http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/02/1...ts-west-ham-and-southampton-who-should-be-wh/

Phil Thompson said he would have expected Southampton or West Ham to be the side to challenge for the top outside of the usual suspects, not Leicester. He's right based on last season, but makes Leicester's achievement all the greater.....coming from relegation fodder to here in successive seasons....although they showed signs of turning things round last season as well.

Unusually I'm not doing anything Ramblers today [tomorrow maybe]. Nor am I doing anything other than baking some bread in the bread machine. So I'm sat here in front of my big TV, which I recently decided would become another computer monitor [why did I take so long to do it, it's great], with wireless keyboard in hand, typing this, while listening to Danny Baker in the build up to Saturday football. And it's great.

A win would help consolidate our place in the top half, in our recent traditional slot; beyond the clutch of clubs who trade places every week. A suitable base camp for a spring assault on the peaks above?

"At their best, both West Ham and Southampton are almost unstoppable - easily earning wins against the biggest sides in the Premier League."

He is right. If you go back to Jan/Feb last season, Saints were tussling over over the top 4 places, at one point beating Arsenal, ManU and Newcastle to go 2nd. Then beating Swansea and QPR away. Although we fell back there was every reason to be hopeful of a repeat of another consistent season. We may yet have a great final run-in that tops last season's final placing.

I like your confident approach, but being realistic 5th place is as far as we can climb this season. we would have to go unbeaten and win almost every game to break into the top four. Maybe next season?
