How Many Visitors To Site? (am I the 999,999th Visitor?)

    When I clicked onto the Jed Steer and GK thread I got a message saying I was the 999,999th visitor to this site, click here to claim. I did not click as I was unsure if it was a scam that someone had got through onto the site and if anyone else has it come up on their computer I don't want other users to fall for it if it is a scam. Is there any way this can be checked out to find out if it is genuine or not?
