It's not all his fault to be fair - but he doesn't help himself. Agree about players not trusting him - it happened at international level with the likes of De Bruyne, Hazard and Witsel avoiding passing to him. But thankfully - we have Origi, Sturridge and Firmino who can play the role - don't think we'll be seeing much of Benteke.
just watched the highlights on iplayer and apart from a couple of long range efforts Benteke was involved in every proper chance shame his confidence is so low you wouldn't have full confidence in him in a 1 v 0 at present weirdly i thought his build up play last night was good
yes he was. he got involved and linke dup well and put a few in first half. He missed every good chance madly though... two he put wide when it simply had to go on target... one 1v1 which only needed him to not run right at keeper once through to open angle and one header he leaped over the defender and then totally mistimed. The last two were poor in my fview and have to be going in. his build up play was ok. he was a bit nervy on the ball and had a bad touch or two in there but he got on it and linked play. he just missed very chance as so we are out... end of.
he played 5 minutes and fouled every time.. what else do you need to know.... does christian have a slave boy who sleeps in his car while he trains? nope... I find it interesting you chose to focus on the negative not the positive in this bit or a report. The whole point of the article on sky was about benteke but.... As a very positive and upbeat person (unlike some on this site) I immediately looked at the list and sai hmmmm no wonder klopp likes Firmino so much. I would have been more interested in an overall likes of "recoveries" to include milner, lallana and coutinho and see which have followed the klopp plan most.
This thread is about Benteke. Hence the focus is on bentekes stats. The stats are conclusive - he's lazy.
