I saw a programme about it, that said that one theory suggests that it screws about with time to such a degree, that you could look up, and see yourself falling in!!

It didn't say what would happen if you could shout up to stop yourself falling in again.

I reckon they should get the other infinite you's in all the infinite universes, to make a human chain to lift you out. <ok>

Well time is something we experience, it is a man made concept that we've applied to the universe. It is linked to light (for example when you see stars in the sky that are very far away) but the two aren't inexorably linked, it's just convenient for us to do so. You couldn't see anything 'inside' a black hole, there's no light source for your eyes to see unless there is other matter being broken up around you, in which case you'd be blinded as it would be super heated to ultra-violet levels (so you wouldn't actually see it anyway).

It's all confusing. The big bang created everything, including time, which means there was no time before it, so when did it happen?

If time is linked to light, would we live longer in a dark place?

Plenty of cancers can be cured...

A lot depends on early diagnoses for some of the hundreds of types and sub types

Some times it depends on luck

Two people with the same cancer and the same treatment can have a huge difference in outcome

A lad half my age with the same type of lymphoma on the same treatment as me lost his battle with cancer...and i survived
He was in the same room on the same ward as me ..****ed if i know why it happens . i even made remission a second time.

Some cancers definitely can be cured its wrong to say theres no cures because if every patient believed that some wouldnt bother to have chemo treatment.

Theres no normal with cancer. Even people who have been given only months can live much longer

My mate from leicester was told 6 months and hes still going strong nearly 5 years later.

    ( i know **** all about black holes )

Woman at work who lost her husband last month told me they used to call it the Departure Lounge at Castle Hill. You never knew when your flight would be called... All the different families would make jokes about it, then you wouldnt see a family again as their loved one had gone.

Her husband was given 6 months but lasted 6 years.

We created time, it's a phenomenon we have used to describe events in the past and the future. Using our invention, we know that the Big Bang happened around 13.8 billion years ago, which gives us both the age of the universe and how far across it is from the point of origin (in light years).

We wouldn't live any longer in the dark, in fact we'd live shorter lives because our bodies need the benefits of sunlight. If you were born without a concept of time and exsisted in a room of darkness, it would probably pass quicker as you'd have no idea how long you'd been in that state. You couldn't reflect back on what you'd experienced and couldn't think about what was coming because the idea of a future or past wouldn't apply to your mind. Such an exsistence would be the definition of insanity.

In other news, we've discovered heavy methane bursts on Mars, which either indicate the presence of micro-organisms or active geological processes under the planet's surface. Either way, that's pretty massive news.

...or cows. They're doing the same here now.

If the made a torch that could shine a black light, would it leave a white shadow?

If they existed, they would (in the absence of any other nearby matter) be spherical on energy grounds (like a rain drop is typically spherical for similar reasons).
'They' are called 'holes' by analogy with a hypothetical bottomless well into which objects can endlessly fall. But don't worry, there aren't any.
Yes, neutron stars and quasars are quite straightforward in the scheme of things.

Well is that the case though???
Was the big bang something that happened after the end of the previous universe.
Did that universe and time suddenly end leading to what exists now.

Some reckon it was a biggish bang followed by others, but the big whoosh doesn't sell as well.

Well all a black hole is is a neutron star that has accrued far more mass than other objects and has become too heavy to sustain it's own structure. It's essentially a neutron star on steroids. They are described as 'holes', but it's a fallacy; they aren't holes at all, they are simply objects that have a lot of mass in a very small space.

    To quote Karl Pilkington:

"Was it actually a big bang, or did it just sound louder because there wasn't much else going on?"
