He'll do 9 months of an 18 month sentence and go abroad where the Italians and French will shrug at the fact that he went with a 15 year old.

Graham Rix never even lost his job at Chelsea for doing the same thing, as 41 year old! He went straight back to work after doing a 6 month stint at her Majesties.

Some proper faux outrage guff has been spouted about this btw.

 

Mweh, I don't why they bother pretending with sentences anymore..might not even be half...dosn't it get halfed immediately for pleading guilty then half again on licence?

Will all depend what details come out tomorrow and if he gets convicted on the other two more serious charges he denies.

 

With Evans, they claimed him still insisting he was innocent was why they didn't want him to just be accepted back into football.

Well be interesting to see what happens once AJ has served his time having admitted some of the charges.

I believe people deserve a second chance once they've served their time. In AJ's case, he can rot for all I care!

attitudes have changed over the years ,mainly due to the slew of high profile cases ,since the Rix incident and even then some people were outraged.
If he had just met her at a part/nightclub/etc and just taken her home i would agree with the last part of your post but from what is reported that isn.t the case

 

If he sought out and chased an underage girl, with the sole intention of taking advantage of her, then yes he will

If however, if it transpires that the initial contact came from the girl and he 'played along' and the contact was not contrived, then the law and precedent will dictate the level of sentence I suggested.

We'll have to wait to see what comes out during the trial.

You do get girls who age before their time - its not like she is 1o.

Legal age in other countries is actually below 16.

Austria, Italy and Germany is 14 and France 15.

Amazingly Spain have received raised it from 13 to 16.

However, he should have known better and must have known what he was getting involved in.

I personally think they were having an affair, her parents found out, and basically made her tell the police he forced it on her.

Although, he has admitted grooming.

Some of the faux outrage and pitch fork waving I've seen written about this case (bearing in mind the detail isn't even out there yet) is symptomatic of the media driven hyperbole that surrounds any case of similar genre post Savile.

Apparently Adidas have cancelled his boot deal, he wore their "Predator" range

 

Just been reading some of the things said in court. He clearly knew she was 15 and clearly took advantage of the situation.
