Happy Birthday to him! Saw him last week, looks in good health still. One of these days I will pluck up the courage to talk to him when I see him
Surprised he's not reappeared anywhere, that said he's done well for himself so hardly struggling to meet ends meet. It was great to see him return and play for his home town club before he hung his boots up
Aye, probably having a well earned rest. Something like a couple of days in the gym and game of football once a week.
Think Nick's in that first band of footballers who never have to work again they earned that much in their playing career. There's no hunger there, money does that.
Ye me too. Got to be that hunger though. You look at people like Shearer and Scholes and they dont want to get their hands dirty. A top job on a huge salary or stay on the sofa. I know people like Warnock are hated but look how he's slogged through it, same with Pulis. Upped sticks and went to Plymouth midway through his career cos thats where the job was.
Although I think we possibly have the best team ever in our history, I do miss the sheer passion and heart that players like Nick had, happy birthday!
I noticed on his wiki page that it says he's now managing at Wyke College, though obviously anyone could have written it.
He obviously didn't like the pressure of management which is a shame because he was pretty good at it. Given more budget and backing I think he would have built a great "footballing" team here.
I think he'd have been fine with the pressure. As much as anyone else anyway. He said he only wanted to manage City and his treatment by the Allams made his desire to manage even less.
