I was very surprised at how short the AJ thread was.

I know you remember smuggate. I admit i used to post on gc. That one went tits up. Once threads go so far,maybe its time. Despite all your input. Imo it was the correct decision.

Billy,Myself or 83 or even yourself,may not be on today due to a ban if it had carried on.

In this case i believe Minxy helped us out. She could easily have banned more. But looked after the residents.

Imo. She did well. (I know you had a lot of input with info)

 

She only had 6 reports, 1 of them was a heads up and not in reference a post in particular, so that's 5 posts max she had to deal with and that's not taking into consideration there could be multiple reports about 1 post. Was closure not enough for 5 posts? Completely unnecessary to delete it. I like transparency. I don't like the way this site is ran these days. It's all hush hush, brush it under the carpet, stifling explanations and most annoyingly wiping out entire threads off the face of the planet. All over 5 posts between 3 super mods. My problem isn't the intention it's the execution which imo was not thought through and always going to cause extra problems. Delete the reported posts and close the thread until it's calmed down. Not rocket science.

But it's done with now. Not for the first time a thread i want to reference has been deleted. It's not worth the effort fella. Just going to post as normal now, no more combing the net to bring posters the best info available as quick as possible. All my findings i'll link to the blog via twitter. I owe the board nowt so going to use the place like most instead of stimulating it. Done with and I'm happy.

I'm just saying the board has changed, don't have the heart to give the place the effort I once did. Fallen out of love with it and the way the super mods run it is kind of the straw that's broke the camels back. This board used to be the first place I'd go to share info. Not any more. I'm still going to post here, it's still brimming with good lads. Just don't have the heart to give the place my effort anymore.

Happy with our mods btw, not sure if that was where you were going with your first sentence. Don't think the lads have put a foot wrong through this. They'll have been working their balls off on the Mod board last night. For such an inexperienced mod team I think they were did excellently. Even if they didn't get here until half way through.

 

There is some great lads on here we will get through this crap and some dickheads are getting banned.

To be fair Bri, that's never been the way it worked. The Super Mods have to look after every board, and there were quite a few threads on various boards needing attention yesterday. They do it voluntarily, and there were posts in that thread that needed attention and could potentially have got quite a few people into some serious bother, as well as the site itself. In that situation, when faced with a thread of 560 posts, all the Super Mods can do is delete the thread. The board mods can still see deleted threads. It is then up to them whether they want to go through the thread and delete the offending posts, but that involves some serious time from people who also do the job voluntarily and have lives to get on with too. You're probably looking at a couple of hours work at least to clean up the thread - it was far more than 5 offending posts and they have to be found first.

Minxy dealt with the visitors and left the Sunderland posters who had crossed the line alone - which to be fair is the way it should be most of the time as long as they haven't stepped so far out of line that they have no choice. It's frustrating as hell when a thread gets deleted because of idiots who have wummed it, so I can see where you are coming from, but in this case I think the fault lies entirely with those who came on and ruined the thread.

 

Looks like I shouldn't have bothered
