. No matter what is said, we all still love Wenger. If anyone deserves to lift the title, it would be him
www.Popa.cr Good streaming site for films - no downloads and the only non-hd quality film I have found so far is the latest star wars movie. p.s. (watching streams is legal).
Viooz or movie25 are decent sites too, often have several links for newish films, but there tends to be a lot of poor quality streams on there too. Will have to check out this popa. Edit: forgot to advise people to use a pop up blocker when using these sites!
How are you guys thinking about voting in the Mayoral Elections in May? I'd probably have to go with Sadiq Khan, personally. Not his biggest fan and I'm not a fervent believer in everything he says, but he's a damn sight better than Galloway and Zac Goldsmith.
Labour have been door knocking in my area trying to raise support for the mayoral election, its a completely labour area so I assume it's just trying to make sure people are going to turn up and vote. By the end of our conversation he was telling me I should join the party and run for local government It was good fun putting the poor bloke on the spot about Corbyn though lol Personally haven't looked into the candidates enough yet to decide where my vote will go.
I went door knocking last week in West Drayton and one door I knocked on, the bloke that opened it told me he was a UKIP supporter. I said to him "You don't think there's any chance of Sadiq getting in, then?" He was like "Can I be honest with you? And you won't get angry will you?" I said: "No of course not, be honest.." He says: "I'm not going to vote for him because he's black. That's why he's won't get a chance to be Labour leader because they'll look at him and tell him to **** off." I didn't really know what to say at that point, so I just said "Okay, well thanks for you time!" Apart from the fact that what he was saying was wrong, it was really weird!
The big issue I have with politics is that realistically only labour or the Tories (auto correct tried to make that Torres lol) gain any significant power. And I don't think I could bring myself to vote for either party, at least not without significant change! The Tories have views on privacy and freedom that just don't align with what I think is morally correct and labour as far as I'm concerned have made economic decisions that my generation will pay for and continue to suggest unworkable solutions to economic issues. Coupled with both parties being completely out of touch with the reality of normal people's lives and I struggle to want either party to do well. In elections like the mayoral election I may break that stance but for general elections I wouldn't want to assist either party getting into power. I still believe the better the smaller parties do the more evolved our political system will become and the more in touch it will be with the general population. I have considered going into politics as a career but the same issue arises, to have a realistic chance at becoming an MP and having any kind of influence you need to be representing on of the big two (or in particular geographic areas parties like SNP).
From what I have seen so far, Sadiq Khan comes across like Blair did before he won his first election - promising everything to everybody without a clue as to how to do it. I have heard nothing of substance from the Goldsmith camp, and as for Galloway..... Add that to your 'doorstep' tale and I would say it reflects how depressing politics has become in this country.
Strange that you don't have issues with the Tories economic policies! I do agree that having just a two party system isn't healthy and that having great choice and options is healthy. Although there is always the danger that far-right fascist parties can gain power (as they have in France), which as history has showed, never ends well.
Unfortunately being that I'm not a cockney **** I won't be voting in the mayoral election in London. I shall be able to vote in the Welsh Assembly election though
I don't live in London, so can't vote in the Mayoral elections and as a result haven't studied the candidates manifesto's deeply, though with his talk of affordable housing and job creation Khan seems to talk a lot more sense and be more trustworthy than Goldsmith. In the up and coming Assembly elections I'm torn - Labour have done a decent job of protecting us/me from the worst of the savage Tory cuts and are doing a very good job of fighting back against the Trade Union Bill, which it looks like the Welsh Assembly will ensure it won't come into force in Wales, which is great. However they are still very neo-con and quite Blair and have done some things which aren't great, and Plaid are making a very good case. Although being a Labour member I suppose it's academic as I'll be voting Labour, and I know I won't be leaving the party before the UK elections.
I agree with some and disagree with some Tory economic policy, but some of the ideas labour come up with make me think they haven't got a clue.
Which bits? The increasing the national debt bits, or the overseeing the slowest economic recovery ever bit? Or the bit which is placing all cuts on the poorest? Or you for privatising the NHS, BBC, and much of the public sector services? (which apparently Farage says he is against)
