    We are where we are.

The next 13 games will determine where we will play next season.

We have - on a points per game basis - improved where we were under Monk - time will tell if we continue to stay above the bottom 3.

From my perspective, we are better than under Monk - hopefully, it will be sufficient to guarantee PL status after 38 games <cheers>

Monk saved us from the drop in his first season and went on to do the double over Man utd and Arsenal and took many other scalps to finish our highest finish ever in the premiership and we would be in the top half by now if they had listened to him...<ok> He don't have anything to prove as he has the T-Shirt to prove it....Jenkins and the board have made so many cock ups this season and the table is telling you that.....

Monk almost dropped us when he took over .
With all the tools Monk was given , Bony , Gomis , Fernandez we should have finished well his first full season in charge , I think we would have finished higher if Britton would have played a bigger part .
Monk sh:t the bed this season dropping Routs , playing Shelvey in a bad position while continuing to bench Britton , continuing to play Gomis game after game when it was clear Gomis didn't give a sh:t about the team , loaning out Dyer , sitting Fernadez for 3 straight games in favour of Bartley .
If Monk wasn't finally kicked out when he was , Fernandez would have demanded a transfer imo.

But we are though, we actually look like a PL football team again, we are playing much better and the potential is there to win games, Under the later days of Monk, there was no shape, no heart, no fighting spirit, in fact it was the worst I have seen the club since the dark old days, so to say we are no further forward is nonsense, we actually look like a pl side again that teams will be a bit weary of, not the side that had given up under a spent manager.

I never wind up when it comes to my team i have supported for 56 years. what i say is what more influential swans supporters than me or any of us say......Monk should not have been forced to leave and that's a fact. He is the best young manager in the country bar none according to his peers and we were barmy to let such a talent go.....Now i know it must hurt some on here to hear this but its a fact what his fellow peers saw with their own eyes what he could do. God forbid if we do get relegated i can tell you that.....<ok>

Starting to have 2nd thoughts about Shelvey ..... Spent half the game with both hands in the air directing blame instead of directing the game yesterday .
No so sure he will have the great effect at Newcastle I thought ....glad we got our 12 million and it's Newcastle that have to deal with figuring Shelvey out .

Sorry but just when you thought the coast was clear <laugh> , you can't be right all the time Dai

"Not convinced by him at all, he does a lot of pointing but his own positioning is often woeful, be presses when he shouldn't and leaves so much space behind him.

When he has the ball be often slows the game down whilst he figures out which long pass to attempt, great when they come off but when they don't it leaves players like Janmaat way out of position with Shelvey unable to cover the space.

Really Phill ? After the Villa match I'd be amazed if we get anything other than a drubbing.

Would it be ironic if Monk gets the Villa job and we don't do the changes we need and relegated next season and villa takes our place.....:emoticon-0136-giggl
