Stupid fans and just plain wind up merchants I can understand why they do things like this. But fans who follow teams in the same country and even worse 12 miles up the road think that they would of handled the situation differently or that we must not love the female members of our families much. jesus mate I wouldn't like to be one of your mates and get falsely accused of something, you would be leading the guys to my door with the hanging rope. In this case it's a fan of a club from 180 miles south not 12 miles north that is questioning your fans. I think the vast majority of us recognise that the fans had no information, and almost certainly the club too, about what was really going on. Very few people are using it as a stick to beat the Sunderland fans with, least of all on a day when you are probably feeling a good bit of hurt at having been lied to and let down by one of your players. It could have happened to any club and any set of fans. AJ's actions have tarnished some very good memories for your fans. I am not sure how comfortable I would have felt singing songs about him while this was hanging over him, just like many have said on here they also felt unable to do so, but the principle of innocent until proven guilty is a key part of our judicial system and nobody before today can be said to have sung songs about someone proved guilty. There are obviously some very obvious victims in this (at least from what we know so far), but there are many other less obvious victims too, including those who will have spoiled memories of a family member, friend, player or even games in which he featured. Football is the least important part of this whole mess, but from a football point of view the Sunderland fans are the ones who have been let down far more than the club or even the game as a whole.

They actually used the phrase "touching up" in the Mail. As he's pleaded guilty to this, does anyone still believe he stopped there and didn't press his advantage all the way? Any post that begins with 'I'm not defending him in any way, but...." has the potential to end very badly, but...... I'm not defending him in any way, but...... The fact that he seems to have taken advantage of a 15 year old girl doesn't mean he has a preference for underage girls, in the same way it would if she had been younger. If she was engaged in chat/conversation that was leading him on then I think it's just as likely that what he is guilty of is having no sort of moral compass that tells him there are rules and morals that mean you don't pursue every female who shows an interest due to your position and status. There may well be other girls that he has cheated on his girlfriend with because they showed an interest. However, it's entirely possible that none of the the others were underage. I don't think too many women will be coming forward with stories about how they bedded AJ now though. Ignoring the rights and wrongs of cheating on his partner (as it's not illegal no matter what our personal moral views might be), he should have had a button that flicked a switch inside his head the second he found out her true age, no matter how she was talking and no matter what she looked like. Any decent person would have recognised that rules exist for a reason and are there to protect people who's brains may not be as mature as their bodies or desires. However, he seems to have proceeded with some sort of feeling of entitlement, something all too common in young men who are used to having things handed on a plate to them. He is now, deservedly, going to pay a very high price for that sense of entitlement and his lack of any sort of moral decency. What he has done is bad enough, but it doesn't mean he is a serial predator or anything like that.
It doesn't matter if the girl is guilt free at all, he is 28 with a so called brain between his ears, stupid twat needed to use that one instead of the one in his pants. Why take a chance on a young girl when he could have been shagging top birds legally, the ****ing idiot.

By law she's guilt free. Legally she's not deemed old enough to make those sort of decisions, so by default she's as innocent as you'll get. Her parents should feel guilty, they've raised a girl who's happy to jump on some pork sword before she's legally old enough. I'd say they're partially to blame. Johnson is a ****ing vermin, who's taken advantage of and manipulated a minor to engage in some form of sexual activity with him.
I would be surprised if anybody else 'comes out' accusingly, and I would expect this girl to have been the first one (and probably the only one) that he has done this to There's been absolutely nothing to suggest that he's done this kind of thing serially, so, as much of a twat that he's been (and obviously still is), I would not cast aspersions like this . . . . at least until there are other revelations that would make us feel that he's even more of a twat than he is
I suspect he'll get a heavier sentence than Rix. Admitting grooming her will make it a much worse offence I think. I don't remember the details, but wasn't Rix's offence seen as a one-off with no pre-meditation?
