A bloke down the pub on Saturday reckoned that Tubby Lambert is keen to finish out his career at Pompey as he allegedly hates the Baggies even more than he does the Scummers now!

Would he be a worthwhile signing for the remainer of the Season, and our Promotion push, even if it was on a 'Pie as you Play' contract?

What are your thoughts fellow Blues and any passing Scummers and/or Brummies?

If such a fantasy came to pass I'd snap him up tbh....never seems' to have worked for him anywhere bar the Stripes though so we may not benefit.

Well it must've been a tempting thought for Rickie. The facilities, the heritage stadium, the bell-ringer and the L2 wages.
Trouble is, even he would look awful in blue. No, it just wouldn't work.

Can Lambert be cloned? Pompey could do with finding forwards who know where the back of the net is as Pompey's current crop of strikers seem as about as productive as a neutered tomcat!!

Well yes, and he scored a lot of goals. Truth is though, that he really wasn't as fit and professional as he became with a Saints kit on. He trained hard and all that work paid off. So the lesson seems to be that wearing some blue tends to keep you a bit lardy and lethargic, but wearing red and white stripes can cure this. If you are wearing a solid blue shirt on the other hand, it might be a hopeless situation. In league 2 anyway.

With reference to Channon theory that Rickie might not be so prolific in a blue shirt!! As the Bristol Rovers fan pointed out, he was good in their shirt, hardly appeared in West Brom's first team so perhaps it's time to try him in another blue shirt. Back in the promotion season 2011/12 a Chelsea fan I met would have loved him in Chelsea's blue!! OK, he is now 4 years older, but is 4 years wiser and could do a great job for most teams at any level in the football pyramid. He is still young compared to Totti who was playing top level football into his 40th year so all Rickie needs to do is stay fit and change to a Mediterranean diet!!
