I genuinely don't understand what goes through a footballer's mind sometimes. What makes them act so idiotically? You have the world at your feet; you play the sport you love as a living, in the Premier League, earning insane amounts of money during a time where there are public sector pay freezes and an increase in poverty, you have a wife that is stunning, you have a child on the way....... And then you risk throwing it all away for a random kid in a club. Seriously. I despair.

If he's admitted to engaging in sexual activity with a minor, and his admissions today show that he was aware of her age before doing whatever he did with her, surely he does deserve to be punished? Not only that, he cheated on his pregnant wife. So even if he didn't know her real age, he still doesn't come out of this looking any better. He's an absolute scumbag of the highest order and him not having a football career would be him getting off lightly.
That's the question. Ched Evans was charged, whether or not he claims he's innocent, the "protestors" have decided he is not fit enough to be a role model and therefore no club should employ him. Sunderland have continued to get play Johnson (despite suspending him initially) and now the question is if they do drop him (which is now highly likely) will he be able to find another football club and if so, will there be the same level of outrage? An honest question that seems to have invited abuse for some reason.
