    Fair enough

Like I say I had only heard on the radio that he had admitted one charge and denied 2 others. I came on here to find more info and all I saw was him being crucified didn't see any actual facts.

His future in football is surely over and if what your saying is correct his contract will surely be terminated and us fans can move on to supporting our team again.

The indictment stated on the first count that Johnson had communicated with the 15-year-old girl on two previous occasions before meeting her while not reasonably believing she was 16 or over.

The second count Johnson pleaded guilty to was sexual activity with a child on 30 January 2015, which involved touching the youngster sexually while not reasonably believing she was over the age of 16 and could be anything as little as a kiss.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He's pleaded guilty to sexual activity with a child and he's admitted he didn't believe she was over 16.

Does not look like he will be playing Sat then..... or ever again in a Sunderland shirt. You might see him in a prison 11.

Even if he only does six weeks, he'll never play in the uk again. He'd get crucified as soon as he stepped on the pitch.

    It could be.

But she'd probably have been sick all over the courtroom and ran out screaming.

She knew mate, I'd bet my last quid she knew.

the bloke is an idiot 1st class. I met my wife when she was 15, we've been married over 40 years now. There was no internet but if there had been I would have used it to make contact. I used a real social network and a friend of a friend , jungle drums etc. Used to ride past on my scoot and wave at her. Was that grooming? We kissed a lot before she was 16. I certainly touched her but no more. My understanding is that these are the charges he has admitted guilt to. Not defending the bloke because, as I said he IS and idiot to risk all for this but we seem to have lost all sense of perspective nowadays.

Those who are saying he should have been sacked or suspended without wages from day one are talking daft. They`d be the first ones jumping up and down if they`d lost their jobs, their livelihoods, their careers, everything, on accusations. That`s all they were, accusations.

He pleaded not guilty. He denied all the charges. The club couldn`t do anything. The club cannot pre-empt or pre-judge guilt or innocence. They had to accept what he said or leave themselves wide open to litigation. Rightly so imo.

Now he`s admitted (some) guilt it`s a different matter completely. The bottom line is he`s lied to the club and everyone else.

I doubt there`s a single supporter here or anywhere else who doesn`t want to see him get everything that`s coming to him.

    It's gone?
    <laugh> Give over man.

There could be legal ramifications in the club commenting on an ongoing trial. A lot of people aren't stopping to consider this.

According to his lack of reaction I'd say he likes you less.

Plenty of people are suspended pending the outcome of legal proceedings mate, my pal was for two years.

You lifted his suspension probably based on his word. That was a bad move in hindsight and I highly doubt there was a legal obligation to reinstate him to the playing squad.

You may be right mate I`m no legal expert. He denied all the charges and pleaded not guilty in court. I don`t see how the club could refuse to accept that.

Not arguing with you mate I just don`t see how they could do otherwise without giving the impression of guilt.

    Tricky situation.

Himdsight's a wonderful thing mate, its just a **** storm that your club is now unfortunately engulfed in by association.

Unfairly, your club will be left to pick up the pieces and repair the damage this vermin has done.
