Good News: Bernie Sanders has won the Democratic nomination from New Hampshire. Bad News: Donald Trump has won the Republican nomination from New Hampshire.
Sanders took 59% of the Democrat vote, compared to Clinton's share of 39%. Trump took 34% of the Republican vote, compared to second-place Kasich's share of 16%.
I've started clearing the old WW2 Anderson shelter in the garden and the very lovely Mrs Godders is stocking up on supplies. What a mess the world is in already. Goodness knows what will happen if that idiot gets into the White House.
Honestly, Trump winning is not a bad outcome. He would have a hard time winning the general election. Also, I am fairly sure that Trump realizes how stupid the stuff he us saying is and is just doing it for votes. But even if he isn't, he will not get anything passed. Cruz is much more dangerous because he is probably more whacky than Trump, utterly sincere about it, and knows what he is doing. I don't know what Bernie Sanders winning means. He is more left wing than Clinton by far so you would think that would not sit well with Conservatives. But they have already trained themselves to believe Clinton is horrible for no reason that they might actually vote against their best interests for Sanders. I mean who knows? It is difficult to predict the actions of insanely stupid people precisely because their stupidity leads them to reject any logic.
I think they had some trouble over the weekend. I managed to download our game to watch any time ok, but I had a look at Leicester's and there was loads of technical problems with the video 1st half.. Occasionally FootballOrgin do have a few technical problems. Looks to me like a server switch might be taking place, or a closing down. Hopefully not the latter. EDIT: Over an hour after I wrote the above post, I still had a FootballOrgin match page open, so I refreshed it and the match that hadn't been there in the first place, as you mentioned, suddenly appeared. So maybe their technical issues are over.
Agree about Cruz, sneaking in under Trump's hairpiece at present. Hmmmm. Trump President of the USA, Kim Jong Un ruling North Korea. What could possibly go wrong ???
Footballorigin can be unreliable at times. I found this recently and have used them since. Doesnt always have full matches but atleast its something. http://www.fullmatchesandshows.com/category/england/
Great! I believe it was you or someone else who pointed out this site earlier in the season. I used it once and, like a fool, I forgot to bookmark it [note to self, practice what you preach]. I've done that now. Cheers.
FootballOrgin seems to be working fine at the moment, I'm reminding myself how well we did against West Ham. They may have some sort of anti-Adblock software, as I was having problems until I disabled it. You just have to put up with 30 seconds of PlayStation ad's every 6 or 7 minutes which could be worse.
I did have problems earlier when I checked Vin's announcement, but an hour later it was 100% fine. Even with all my ad-blocking and anti-tracking software enabled upto the hilt. With the odd thing, like Ghostery, sometimes you have to let certain trackers through, but by no means everything. I'm sure you're aware of that Chilco. Just saying it for others mainly.
Sanders is interesting. People have been talking all about the Tea Party people and how far right the country has gone, and Sanders is about as far left (which tbh, is really not all that far left compared to England and other European countries) as any candidate in a long time. He won most of the votes from moderates and conservatives, so not sure what's going on there. Do they really hate Clinton so much that they would rather have the far left guy than a relative centrist whose views are closer to their own? Or is there perhaps a bit of sabotage going on in thinking that a Clinton/Sanders dog fight splits the liberals and makes it easier for conservatives? Maybe a little of both.
Clinton is a moderate - but a boring, unprincipled, and seemingly untrustworthy (the email stuff and Benghazi) one. Sanders has something to say - he's passionate, he is principled and he believe what he says. People think Trump is the same (although I still believe this anti-immigration/muslim stuff is a deliberate vote winning tactic) - and he speaks in every day language. Clinton has the political machine behind her: millions from interest groups, and she is from a family of the 'political establishment'. She expected to walk it by not saying much, and Sanders has caught her on the hop - plus the email stuff has caught up with her. Bernie has got a lot to do in the South mind - but momentum can change people.
I read the other day that the average funding for Sanders campaign is a $27 donation from a citizen. People like that too, I guess.
A very small part of me wants Trump to become president just because of the sheer carnage it would cause.
The New Hampshire primary got Sanders 13 delegates, compared to Clinton's 9. Amongst super-delegates, Clinton leads 356-13. (ish depending on source) So still a bit of work to do.
