Paul O'Connell retires from all rugby today. Will be badly missed by Ireland. What a great player. He had a fantastic career. Next weekend's games; France V Ireland Wales V Scotland Italy V England Good to see that the rugby immediately follows the QPR V Fulham game. Some will go straight from the game to the pub.
Sad for the game to see him go. The amount of punishment he subjected himself to, it's no great surprise it was on medical grounds. A giant of a man in all senses. Surely the biggest loss to Ireland since Brian O'Driscoll retired
A huge man/player in every aspect, hugely respected by his team mates and opposition alike........unlikely to see his sort again for a very long time. It's quite astounding that he played for so long when you consider the intensity of the game and the punishment that the body takes in modern day rugby. A lot of talk/speculation over here that he'll become coach of Munster in the near future. One of the all time greats.....
Depends on the individual. O'Connell is a Terry Butcher type, the more fire the better. Others, like Jonny Wilkinson, were all about themselves, confidence comes from within.
If you had known I thought you knew I knew, we could have saved ourselves some time (I would have thought).
