At the start of the First World War football was suspended , in the last season before the war started Arsenal finished out of a promotion spot . When the war was over and football rebooted , Arsenal was given an unearned promotion spot with crys of bribes . The season after , the Southern League joined the English league with all Southern League teams joining English 3rd division .....except for Cardiff who were "Invited " to play in 2nd division with crys of ...... Cardiif's "Silver Spooned " reputation goes back a lot further than most think .
I actually thought it was a good read and although aware of what went on this gave a little more insight to what actually happened. Just shows how much both clubs fortunes and reputations have changed, One for the good and one for the bad, I will leave it to you to decide which one is which.
Yes not our finest hour and couple that with the Petty saga then we were a laughing stock but i believe everything happens for a reason and if those two episodes never happened we may not of got things moving that got us to the promise land where we have been earning millions for 5 seasons and are the 23rd richest club in world football. I like to thank the people who made those two decisions a long time ago not realizing they put us on the road to greatness something the capital city have been trying to do since 1927 and only made one season where they were well and truly whipping boys and sent packing back to the lower leagues.....Whatever happens this season we will have had 5 great seasons and made a load of dosh......
