Yep, some knock off artists will try to make money any way they can. I hope they were left with boxes full of them to pack back into their unmarked vans <ok>

So serious question now. If (and looks likely) Spurs finish above Arsenal, is this the final straw for Wenger?

I don't have a problem with foreign fans, a lot of them are as knowledgeable and as enthusiastic as local fans.It is as easy and just as quick for some fans to travel from Europe as it is for me.I do have a problem with the tourists though such as those in that photo taken yesterday which I posted. When I went to our home game against you this season there was a coach parked next to ours which was full of tourists with half and half scarves

I can understand that from tourists, a once in a lifetime thing maybe, get a half & half scarf to commemorate it :emoticon-0100-smile
If I went to Spain and managed to catch a Barca v Madrid game I might do the same.

What annoys me is that tourists are getting tickets at the expense of genuine fans

Not over till fat Sam sings. Still too many games left to make a certain prediction yet. We have to wait and see them handle the pressure when it gets very close to the time. We may see them and another collapse during the way...

It is a necessary evil. If the club wants to have that global appeal they have to cater to tourists. They will also spend more money.

There is absolutely no need for the club to sell tickets to tourists who are just attending games as part of a holiday package, those tickets will be bought by genuine fans anyway. There is a difference between tourists and fans who travel from abroad to watch games as I've already alluded to.

Even though people see Wenger's "company" comment as disrespectful, he is right. Most clubs these days make themselves available as a tourist attraction. It is a money maker and marketing ploy for clubs.

Cym is thinking purely as a football fan, a dying breed almost. Today's football is all about money unfortunately. The irony is, the man that so many people look up to, Wenger, is the very same guy that made Arsenal a business first football team. Not bashing him at all as he's made Arsenal into one of the biggest teams in Europe, but there is no question that his priority is financial success, than footballing success on the pitch.

I have to disagree, to continue our upward trajectory as a global club we need to cater to the tourist element. It isn't about making sure the seats are sold in the stadium, it's about expanding our fan base.

That depends on how ambitious the club are, if we want to be competing with the very best clubs over the long term, then we need to continue to increase all of our financial activities which includes merchandising and tv rights abroad. Larger fan base = larger revenue = more stability and more chance of competing at the top.
