I'm posting this again as it was at the bottom of the last page and people who may like it wouldn't see it. <sorry> Vetch.

    Still reeling on Bowie....

This was Rick Wakeman's tribute on Radio 2 recently. He played on the original of course. This had the public blubbing when it was aired. Simply beautiful.

Rick Wakeman hadn`t long joined The Strawbs when they played the Queen Elizabeth Hall. During the concert there was a problem with some of the equipment. Rick improvised with "Temperament Of Mind". Give it a listen, also give the whole superb album a listen, Dave Cousins lyrics and the tunes are a delight.

All Cancer as well I think. It probably has a greater impact on you when you're older, as these names would mean less to a younger generation.

Anyone been watching the latest "Brian Pern" comedy? I absolutely love it, very funny and extremely well done. They've pulled off the musical satire superbly. Wakeman was on it a couple of weeks back, on a train with Chas'n'Dave <laugh>

Another one bites the dust, Paul Kantner Guitarist with Jefferson Airplane has died aged 74 from "multiple organ failure". The original vocalist in the group, Signe Anderson also died the same day.

Apologies for them both being from Bark, it`s my favourite.

Oh ****! Now Maurice White of Earth Wind & Fire has died. I know he'd been ill for a while but it's so sad. I saw them many years ago and they were utterly brilliant. There were about 20 of them on stage and they remain one of the best live acts I ever saw. What a horn section. You just wondered what was going to happen next - they must have spent a fortune on the effects, including a drum kit that spun upside down. Amazing. Here's to you, Mo - you made a lot of people very very happy.
