Whilst I hold any saints player in high esteem, tbh I have got to the point I don't care either way if he stays or goes. If he stays great, if not and we get decent money for him, fine (as long as its not Tottenham).

He is easier to replace than if we were to lost Forster or van dyke.

Thank you. It's been a little while since someone made me google a word. I genuinely didn't know if you'd made that up or if it was a real word. It had a "cockwomble" feel about it.

I like that word and I'll be using that. My new word learned for today!!

It had me discombobulated for a bit then :)

Ha ha. I just posted that I like that word. Clearly I'm not as clever as you as if never heard of it before.

I think Vics latest sending off is likely to get the big boys to have their doubts about wanting to buy him. If they are still thinking he is the right player for them, this latest escapade will probably knock a few mil off the deal.
I seriously think that Saints themselves might be thinking better to get rid than to hang on to a player they can only use 70 to 75% of the time. Also if he wasn't a marked man he will be now for sure!

With this 5 match ban, it looks like Vic is giving up first team football for lent.

We should appeal to the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention.

I suppose his resale value is reducing but the chances of him staying increasing.if he's not leaving in summer, I hope he does the decent thing & at least signs 12m extension. I make that 3+1+4+5 games he's going to miss this season through suspension & it's not even finished !

If Victor is going to become a liability I think perhaps we should look for a less physical, possibly more technical, version of him who can control himself better. Make a pile of cash on VW and let the Black Box work its data crunching magic. Like every Saints player, I like Victor, but blimey doesn't he miss a number of games per.

It would be a shame to miss the two occasions a season where Jack Wilshere would bounce off him, but then again Wilshere never plays either, so that's a weak hope for entertainment.

He didn't have this kind of record at Celtic did he? Or are they just continually niggling him knowing his weakness?

Don't know about his Celtic record, but I don't know that he is being niggled more...he's just playing against better teams, so loses the ball more.

Yes unless Mane gets scoring I can see him still being here next season because no one will be prepared to pay what we want. He's got another two years after this one so there is no rush from our point of view. If that happens he may up his game next season which would be a win for us and him.

Not including one that was rescinded, he had one straight red and a double yellow. In total, he has 2 straight reds in 138 matches for Celtic/Saints, and 5 reds total. Before the recent flood, he went 63 matches with Saints before receiving his first sending off.

He has always been card-happy, but that's a feature of DMs in general, and our DMs in particular (Morgan managed his fair share of yellows, and Romeu is also accumulating them at a high pace given minutes played). So it's really a question of whether the past 14 games are the representative sample or not.

Anyone else think eating donuts is too soft a penalty for getting three reds?

A two week fine at least suggests to the fans that the club won't tolerate it. Obviously the club is not gonna do this during contract negotiations. But I'm beginning to question whether Wanyama is worth it.
He can be excellent sometimes, but I think he is replaceable. I'm personally not happy with a midfielder who is such a risk.

Problem as mentioned above is that he's a marked player with ref's these days and I think he was before Saturdays game. As a DM your effectiveness on the field becomes restricted from the first whistle. If we can get an offer of 20M in the Summer - we should take it.

Koeman will do the right thing...he won't be diverted by any contract thoughts....Victor will have his pay docked.

I'm wondering about that doughnut comment...is Victor known for eating Krispy Cremes? I doubt it just popped into Yoshi's head. :)
