.. When we went shopping at Le Havre, we ended up buying El Hadji Ba and looking to get Benjamin Mendy. If we had scouts there, why the hell didn't they say, "Well hold on a minute... who's this Mahrez guy, he looks pretty decent!".

Great player, joy to watch :)

To be fair, he wasn't that great back then, he didn't even look anything special last year! Mendy would have been a hell of a signing if he'd agreed to come, we were unlucky with that one. Typically we ended up with the one who was pure ****e <laugh>

Well, growing up in Leicester I've been to a lot of there games over the last few years and watched them progress. He was decent in the championship, but no where near as good as he is now. Like its been said, he wasn't even that great last year. Chuffed for the lad though.

To be fair, Ranieri has brought the best out of so many players this season, Drinkwater, Morgan, Mahrez, Vardy, and then the truly wonderful bargain purchases of Austrian captain, Christian Fuchs and N'Golo Kante (this guy is going to be some player) have created an amazing story.
To be talking about possibly getting in the Champions league next season is frankly ridiculous but it's looking more and more likely

This is good for football. Sky must be hating it but no doubt their pr people will find a way to benefit from it.

Really hope they can keep it up and win it.

Imagine getting into the cl and getting drawn with real Madrid or Barcelona... Not quite Stoke on a cold Tuesday, but can Messi do it at the walkers? Haha

Winning the league man. Really hope you do. I'm one of the "Leicester will fall away" brigade and expected it to start from the (admittedly few) losses you've had but you've pulled it around. I hate city after we played the cheating, time wasting twats on Tuesday and can't stand Spurs. Like watching Arsenal but Wenger is a prick! Come on.. Do it for all of the other "little" clubs

Commentators just said 'this time last year they were going down. 17 points after 24 games'.

****ing hell. A year later and 6 points clear at the top.

It has to give hope to some. They pepple in charge only own duty free shops.

Cheers lads, appreciate the kind words. Yes Vardy signed a new 3 year contract with us yesterday to top off a great day all around.

What kind of credit do you still give Pearson?

Pearson has to take some credit for sure for what he did for us and built the club up from league 1, but he was limited as a manager tactically. He never had much of a plan b, where as Ranieri has the whole damn alphabet!!!!
Pearson would have had us set up a lot more defensively this season, but The football Ranieri has us playing is a delight to watch.
    Long may it continue

I find this quite funny cause i remember the meltdown from your fans when the Tinkerman got the job. Even Lineker had a pop at him!
Massive respect to what you have done/doing this season. I truely hope you win the league. Leicesters form this season is what makes the Premiership the most exciting league in the world.
Its an inspiration to all clubs that the unexpeted CAN happen!

I must admit I didn't think Ranieri was a good appointment, I thought he was a really nice bloke and all round gentleman but I didn't think he'd achieve much with Leicester. Turns out I'm an idiot who knows nothing.

I'd like to join everyone else saying that they want Leicester to win the league, I would say good luck but you don't need it. It's my favourite football success story in a long time and I hope you take it all the way.

But was the catalyst for the team change not down to Pearson bringing Huth last January? In the first half of the season the going forward was always good (5-1 v ManU) but the defending abysmal. Once Huth tightened things up at the back everything fell into place.I suspect Ranieri was an appointment made to ensure that relegation was avoided but it has turned into a fairy tale.

Having said that I would be over the moon if you win the league even if is only to show the rich clubs the value of having a team that played for each other rather than parade their skills in what is often a race between thoroughbreds and hacks.

I tipped Leicester at the start of the season.

    For relegation...

Really chuffed, I went to Uni in Leicester and have lots of mates down there (including my best man). I went to Filbert street a few times and was at the Walkers when they had the vote over the name of Leicester (they were discussing changing it to Leicester Fosse, i voted "city" and the team won 4-0 against Wolves I think?). Also saw - then world champions - Brazil national team play in that stadium but missed the only goal of the game as my mate said "look at the size of that bird" and as i looked i heard a cheer and Carlos had unleashed a thunderbolt... apparently.

Also got accidentally invited into the England U21's team meal there (though blew it by being surprised and honest) back in 2001 (when they were about to play Mexico) as the bouncer though me and my mate were there to play (it was a few hours before the match and i was showing him the stadium). Ameobi and Jay Boothroyd played blinders!

Oh well, many happy memories of Leicester football, I hope you win I really do and I don't care in the slightest how massively wrong i was.
