Yeh he scores goals and everything <laugh>

We have a good balance of world class players, up and coming stars and very good youth players coming through. Given time and a decent manager (not the bob in charge right now) we'll be right up that table.

can't believe we could have had romero/valdes on frees.

even their not that great but we'd be in a much better place with them.

I go for De Gea because I'm reluctant to give it to a keeper in a team so dominant...

Terry holds a lot of influence at the club. Once he goes ...

Chelsea have/had remarkable young players. Their investment in youth is second to none.

I think it's just as important because playing in a team which dominates games, they are hardly called upon therefore concentration levels need to be on point. In addition, De Gea has more saves to make so looks busier, which looks very good statistically.

Please T, your team has saved more points from De Gea than won points with the rest over last two seasons.

Not one of the rest are "World Class"...very good but not world class...otherwise they'd no longer be with you. De Gea is only there because Real chickened out.

I agree with that and almost said it: like why Mignolet looked good in a Sunderland team lol but De Gea's saves include ones many other keepers wouldn't get to.

He's not Schmeichal but he'll get there.

Well being a Liverpool fan I'd expect that reaction. Mata at the very least is world class and still there. But even if you want to split hairs about the others, the point still remains that we have a good balance of experience, talent and youth in that side. It's set up nicely. We need Shaw back and probably another CB to partner Smalling, that's it. Oh and a better manager ofcourse. And I lay pretty much all of our underachievement at Van Gaal tbh.

Don't get me wrong - De Gea is world class. Goes to show what investing in youth, allowing them to make mistakes and persisting with them can do for you.

Our team has a lot of talented young players.

No mate - Mata is a quality player but he's not world class.

De Gea is the only WC player you have - be grateful.

Mata struggles to get into the team some weeks! Good player, not even close to WC. Would be be where near a World Squad.

De gea is WC, no one else is close and not sure who you are suggesting is, other than Mata?

Mata has been nowhere near World class in his time at United, he's not even an automatic pick ffs.

    Absolute bobbins.

The rest of that side is unbalanced and lacking a quality out and out striker.

So we're going to divert that whole paragraph to the lowest common denominater, arguing to and fro about why Mata is world class? My point originally was in response to Frank saying one player (world class or not) can get you up the table. That's just bitter talk. My point is that the mix of quality in terms of experience, talent and youth coming through is why we'll be moving up the table. I'd say what it shows is how much a bad manager can stifle that.

Hmmm..me being a Liverpool fan is irrelevant..never been blinkered that way (except in our matches lol)

I've accepted when you lot had world class..(like i do now with DG). You used to have quite a few and dominated, then 2 or 3 and won a league. Now you have only the keeper and he keeps you up there but never look like winning it.

You certainly have the money to get them but between managers and poor choices you overspent on just good and paid a fortune for WC and alienated them once they arrived....

Suarez did it for us. <ok>

De Gea has kept you lot in so many matches - kept the scores level - then the rest of the team capitalised.

In addition - if you had Mignolet in goals, you wouldn't have qualified for CL last season.
