  1. As Lefty Gomez once said, "I'd rather be lucky than good!"

I'm sure Ranieri is an excellent coach, but I bet even he cannot believe his own luck!

  2. I commuted for several years from the Home Counties into the City, rarely getting a seat, and putting up with British Rail's dreadful service. I do not miss it, and neither would I want to go back to it.

Exactly, I would only do it again if I had to to support my family. I prefer the risk of getting kidnapped or shot in a lawless African country. If I do meet my maker, the comany would pay my dependants thtee times my annual salary and my pensions would pay off the mortgage.

Flamini's lucky not to be sent off early on. Very poor tackle.

Arsenal take the lead when they should be down to ten men. Typical.
Can't see Bournemouth getting anything out of this now, unfortunately.

Moanrinho seems nailed on for the United job surely?

I can see Roman going all-out for Simone or perhaps Conte. There's no way he will experiment with a younger, unproven name. The only managerial appointment that petrified me vis-a-vis Arsenal was Guardiola as I think he of all the managers in the world shares the most similarities with Wenger's philosophy. But with him out the way, who? It really is a tough one.

Anyway, back to the flat track bullies doing what they do best...

How has Giroud avoided a booking in this game? Multiple stroppy fouls.

Afobe looks good, inexperienced but strong when holding it up, hard working and doesn't hide

Bournemouth don't really look like they believe that can get anything out of this.
Haven't caused Arsenal many problems in this half, bar the first ten minutes.

That's the key PNP the 'I know my place' syndrome the one Leicester have ignored and just gone for it.

Bournemouth is the most similar club to Arsenal in style, so I can see Eddie Howe as a possibility. I believe you should always get a young manager, in any case. It's tricky getting the man who is ready to make the next step up, but it's the best possible choice. On the other hand, how many people would have bet Ranieri would get Leicester relegated?

This year demonstrates that assembling expensive collections of players is nothing, and forging a better team is everything. Spurs are seeing a good plan come to fruition more spectacularly than its biggest backer would have dreamed. As for Leiceser:

A keeper who stops everything: Schmeichel
    Assassin in defense: Huth
    Genius in midfield: Mahrez
    Goal-scoring forward: Vardy

...though seven donkeys who run all day does some disservice to Kante and Drinkwater, who are good players. They certainly run all day, which is what they have in common with us.

Ranieri to Arsenal? Is it impossible as a short term measure if the right candidate isn't available? Maybe he doesn't play the 'Arsenal way' but what's happening at Leicester might just convince someone to give him one more shot at the big time.

There's a photo on the BBC from the Chelski match showing Costa "confronting" a linesman. How the hell doesn't he get booked for this sort of thing? Far from picking on Chelski as the great one claimed, I think the officials have always been far too lenient with them. I bet Costa's got a "Respect" badge on his shirt somewhere!

Edit: just worked out how to post the image:
