Ah okay, it's about a record executive in the 70s.

It's going to make me cry, the amount of money that was sloshing about in the industry back then...

Cooking Sunday dinner for the third time in three weeks, as the present Mrs Onionman came down with the 'flu two weeks ago yesterday. Proper 'flu, not man-'flu.

Add into that the fact that I was diagnosed with whooping cough (how very Victorian) and she appears to have caught that as well, she's a rather ill woman.

Still, it means we've had three Sunday dinners done just how I like them (beef oh-so-rare and gorgeously pink lamb today) with proper Yorkshire pudding. One big one rather than the feeble little puddinglets.

The industry cut its own throat, I'm afraid. When albums were £7 or £8, they priced CDs at £16 despite their being slightly cheaper to press. Every single person I know felt the pain of that rip-off and they never forgot it. Then when digital copying (of CDs at first) took off there was no goodwill at all left for the music companies and they reaped the whirlwhind. No-one cared at all about the lost profits for the companies when they copied; they just remembered being mercilessly ripped off. Unfortunately the small artists took the hit as well.

True, but as has already been said a million times even on here, the current situation is completely unsustainable.

Top man on the cooking comments, but more importantly I hope Mrs Onion is well very soon and I do hope that junior's absence yesterday isn't connected to his parents ill-being. Best wishes to both of them.

on the Yorkshire, do you cook it on its own, or pour the batter around the beef in its tray? Pink is the only way to serve a roast beef.

Not sure but he has a choice of two unpleasant diseases to catch. The whooping cough vaccine is one of the ones that isn't 100%. And what about best bloody wishes to me? I've had it for two and a half months and kept gamely on like the hero I truly consider myself to be.

I'm a very keen gravy maker so the Yorkshire gets its own pan.

Disagree on the colour of the beef. When you look at the centre of a roast you should be unsure if it's even been cooked. Pink's burnt.

I agree. Alongside that, the mass closure of pubs is throttling the flow of groups who have served an apprenticeship. I don't know what the solution will be but I do wonder what the kids born today will have for musical entertainment.

Ha ha.. agreed on the colour deep pink... almost red :)

I love you lots and hope you are feeling well too. I didn't want to insult your manhood by suggesting you needed any best wishes. I like own gravy from the juices too, but I did try the batter in the beef once and it wasn't a success :(

It's where they scout talent now though. Even though I have yet to see one that isn't a cheesy pop singer.

Just finished my taxes, so I have a free Sunday now as well.

I have heard something about there being a football game tonight? If so, I may watch that.

They'll do fine. Real talent always finds a way to be heard.

Won't be as good as the 70s and 80s though, obviously.
