Rodgers inherited a much better side. He inherited a side with a Suarez, Gerrard, and Reina in it for a start. Who do we have now? No strikers. No good goalkeeper. Coutinho is decent but very inconsistent. We don't have a single player to get excited about. Ings, Can, and Sakho are bright hopes but we need players who are good now. Rodgers allowed the team to get worse after spending boatloads of money.
I don't have expectations on any manager winning the title with us but doing so without making a single signing is a very tough task. We've got more chance with Klopp who has a history of winning things and was wanted by everybody than we did with Rodgers who had experience with teeth whitening products.
It's frustrating in that Coutinho, Studge, Firmino as a front 3 all season and we'd be a much different team.
yeah there's a better chance of us scoring more than we concede our defence is the bigger issue for me, ****ing shambles it is.
It is a mess but if we're scoring we're probably pushing teams back and taking the pressure off the defenders. A lot to sort out in the Summer.
the game v norwich is all the proof you need. even when 4-3 up with stoppage time to play, we can't see the game out. regardless if we got the win. it was disgusting and shameful
Defence is poor but the midfield is the weak point. We fail to control games and when we do have possession we lack ideas, we're either too patient or too inpatient, there is no composure or cutting edge. Add that we're currently playing five midfielders and no striker in each game and there is little wonder we're struggling.
Hopefully come next season, the likes of Milner, Lucas and Henderson are nothing more than squad options, and we're not relying on Emre Can. Not just that, we need a real b*stard in the team. Hopefully the rumours are true regarding Granit Xhaka.

The 'encouraging ' thing is that we seem to be mainly conceding goals from stupid individual errors. The shape and structure is slightly improved. Sakho needs to be doing better against Defoe, Lucas and Kolo need to do more to prevent the ball reaching Defoe. But the whole pressure came about from conceding from a stupid free kick which Migs messed up. We do this to ourselves - stupid mistakes - adds pressure - no steel - we crumble.
Hodgson also had Reina and Agger. Klopp hasn't had a settled defence since he's been here due to injuries.
