If you read my comment as a whole, I said that they had won more more prestigious trophies than Spurs this century and that Redknapp and Campbell were more successful at Pompey than they were at Spurs. I literally mentioned the cup win in the same comment <laugh>

Also they are not more successful than Arsenal this century whatsoever, we have won 2 league titles, 5 FA cups and the double <ok>

Who mentioned this century I certainly didn't and you said in recent history I am just picking a random time frame in recent history lets say from 2005/2006 season to the 2012/2013 season (that works for me) and in that time period by your logic Portsmouth were more successful than Arsenal ...Oh and so were Spurs!

Yes they are. The carling cup is nowhere near as prestigious as the FA cup.

It's only major to Spurs because you've won **** all of any importance for 25 years <laugh>

Also it stands that both Redknapp and Campbell won more at Pompey than they did at Spurs

Total bollocks. There is no difference between the two. The same teams enter, and it's just as difficult to win! Both finals are held at Wemblet too.

As I've said, I can see why Spurs fans think this is the case, as to you it is a major trophy.

Fans of 88 of the 92 league clubs certainly believe that the league club is a major honour, and most supporters of the other 4 do too. I would think that you are amongst a tiny minority of football supporters who hold the view that trophy is worthless, the outcry on your own forum when you lost in the final to Birmingham would also suggest this.

I didn't say it was worthless, I said it wasn't a major honour and certainly not as prestigious as the FA cup.

I do actually agree that the FA cup is still held in higher regard than the league cup, that has always been the case, but that does not prevent the league cup from being still being a major honour, it maybe third on the big clubs wish list after winning the league and the FA cup, but it still matters you watch City celebrate if they win it

It's a fairly big step down from the FA cup to the league cup though. It's not really a major honour in the same way that the FA cup and the League title are. For example if a teams wins the League and FA cup then they are considered to be double winners, if they won the league and capital one cup, they wouldn't. The fact that many teams use the league cup to rest senior players and give youth and reserves some games, tells you how it is regarded by the big teams. I'm not saying it's worthless, it's just the least prestigious trophy for the teams looking to challenge for the Champions League, League title and FA cup.

You are considered to have won the double (as we did first!).because the FA cup came into being first. In reality, there is very little difference between the two competitions, the only difference being that there are no non league clubs in the CC. Plus they both gain you entry into Europe.

How we do will depend on how we cope when the EL restarts.
We have City away, Arsenal home, Chelsea away, West Ham away, Liverpool away, Man Utd home to play which will be difficult.
Arsenal were 7 points ahead of us 3 matches ago and after they played Stoke, Chelsea and Southampton they were behind us on gd (guessing piskie doesn't regard that as a bottle job!) so to be honest anything could happen in the next 14 matches (or 15 for united and Arsenal)
My guess (bearing in mind I am used to years of spurs induced pain) is that City will win the prem with Leicester 2nd, Arsenal 3rd and either us or United 4th...really hope I am just being pessimistic but can not see us coming through that tough run of games unscathed.

United didn't get all 3 points today and that almost rules them out of top 4 IMO so the title race is between Leicester City Spurs and Arsenal - so next fixtures are 3rd v 1st
    and then 4th v 2nd
so if both home teams win the table would be
    Leicester on 53
    arsenal on 51
    city on 50
    spurs on 48

It will be mad till the end of the season
