We not hearing much big talk from you about Belshill today? ;)

No concerns with the Mullins form- 6 weeks til Cheltenham and much better ground to come. Looked hard work at Leopardstown today.

Don Poli becoming Gold Cup one to be on as each week passes?

That's what I'm thinking Bob. Might be worth nicking some 6/1 or 11/2 right now I reckon.

    Vautour won't stay
Don Cossack doesn't win at Cheltenham and doesn't jump under pressure
Road To Riches and Djakadam aren't good enough this time round

Smad Place to give Cue Card and Don Poli a lovely tow into the race and Poli grinds it out up the hill. Simples.

Why isn't Djakadam good enough? Fell lto but was tanking round, killed his field the time before, ran a great second last year in a rock solid race. I think this year is no stronger. Personally, I don't like Don Poli.

I think he's had a bad prep Bob, can't see him getting there in the same form as last year. They are trying to shrug off that fall as if it were nothing but it will have left its mark.

Having a fall the run before Cheltenham he would have to be extra special to over come that and win a Gold Cup

dont forget last year he was thrown in the Hennessy only imo he was too inexperienced however I think that race was the making of him last year he must have Learnt hell of a lot! He the won the thyestes in great style ! And ran a blinder in a hard gold cup but the race can leave a lasting effect on horses like the national does , bobs worth (who looked to be s banker the year after he won it) Lord Windermere, sir des champs, Imperial Commandar to a name a few especially the first two hard to recover from a race as hard as the gold cup and come back and perform the same again !! You have to be extra special , Kauto star , Denman -esk to do it , why have their been so little dual winners of it Just feel another could be Deja Vu. And who's to say CONEYGREE would have done the same- he was a great horse but as I said earlier Bobs worth looked to have the 3m division in his grasp to only not perform it is true what they say Reputation can grow with absence (however I think he probably would have won <laugh> )

Yes but Oddy, remember we were told there was a cloud coming in/worrying times only last Saturday ;)

Anything over 1/2 is value <laugh> I dunno mate, it'll be 6/1 the field on the day won't it? If so he's liable to be bigger than his current 6/1. Remember last year's GC, Sickbag Conti was what 11/4, 3/1 in the run up to it. 5/1 on the day. The King George something similar. This year there's so many contenders with cases to be made for each, there'll be plenty of value on the day imo.

There's a race for Djakadam in Gowran on Red Mills day I think, Willie might let him school around there to pick up the prize money before he heads across so hold the back pages lads. All depends how that cut is healing up I'd say.

Something will be in around 7/2 on the day. It will be either Don Cossack or Djakadam I would guess.

Mighty close...but we will never know. It could be debated for ages either way couldn't it. Coral are 12/1 VL for the Ryanair, Boyles are as short as 7/2! Is he a Gold Cup runner? I wish they'd come out and set us straight <laugh>

Would just like to share the tale of our day at Sandown whilst hoping none of this sounds pretentious.
We get to the racecourse and tickets arranged by Heis from a friendly Northern jockey are at the collection point. I then get a text from my big Sister and we go to meet her by the saddling boxes. Turns out she is looking after LE REVE as Lucy Wadham has gone to a christening. We tell he we will get along to the parade ring and see her later. When we get to the Parade Ring LE REVE is in their on his own with two handlers and my sis is chatting to the women on the gate(typical). She tells us the owners are not at the races and wants to know if we want to come in and do the "owner thing".
Even Charlie Longsdon had to do a massive double take when he spots us talking, laughing and joking actually, with Harry Skelton who has had his proper instructions via mobile from Mrs Wadham. The rest as they say is history and you should have seen my sister struggling with the very large crystal bowl trophy.
I know we are a pair of lucky buggers and this was yet another hugely memorable day. Thanks for letting me share.

    (Of course we backed him)

I don't think either is gold cup winner. With the weather we've been having I wouldn't be surprised to have a bog to run on, if so we could be in for a few surprises and some big price winners. At the moment the only banker I can see is thistlecrack.

You're drunk. There's no way in hell it's 6/1 the field on the day! ****, i'd lay you 10/1 that won't be the case. If they're 6/1 the field i'll quit my job and become a full time layer.
