I was specifically referring to getting to the match in time. But if you want to open that debate: I've always loved London - so much to do, so much to see, so many people to meet. Life is for living!
20 February 2016 is our 23rd wedding anniversary. I was planning to go for a long weekend to a dog friendly hotel by the beach but when the draw was made I thought we could go a few days early and come back on the Saturday morning but now that doesn't seem like a good idea.
Dog friendly hotels! Is there anything in the world less appealing? Do they let the dogs curl one out near the breakfast tables?
So many people to meet. Never thought of that one, you've convinced me cos I've met everybody in Hull
How many ordinary hotels do you go to where dumping in the breakfast room is allowed? I've not found that filter on hotels.com.
There's a restaurant with an outside veranda so you can avoid the dogs and sit inside if you want or go outside with your dog(s). They have heaters if it's cold.
They are less likely to be from other parts of the world if you meet them in Hull. I'm a bit of an internationalist.
Never been to the ballet and don't go to the theatre very often. When I was younger I'd go to see rock groups a lot. I don't like the big venues but I'd go if Led Zeppelin or Bob Dylan was on. I'd prefer smaller venues with Reckless Eric, John Otway or Jonathan Richman. I even went to see Supercharge with the Stranglers playing as support but nearly everybody stayed in the bar when they were on and only three people watched them. I took a girl to see John Otway and I got her a bottle of R White's lemonade to give to him I was expecting her to hand the bottle to him but when I said "give it to him" she threw it at him and he had to duck out of the way!
I was waiting on a platform on Earls Court tube and I started talking to a couple of girls and they asked me where I thought they were from. I guessed Argentina and I was right!
Love a dog friendly hotel, me. What I hate is a dog tolerant one. Where dogs are 'allowed' but everyone gets sniffy when you take them into the bar soaking wet after a brisk constitutional. My favourite dog friendly hotels are all in Scotland. They let them run riot up there.
