Tony Pennock has stressed the importance of home support for the Under-21s ahead of next week’s U21 Professional Development League 2 clash with Sheffield Wednesday at the KC Stadium.

Monday night’s game against the Owls will be the second time this season that the Tigers’ Development Squad have played on the KC pitch, with over 700 fans in attendance to watch the 1-1 draw with Leeds United back in December. Academy Manager Pennock was delighted with the turnout that night, but is hoping to see an even bigger crowd at the KC when Wednesday come to town.

“The fans were fantastic against Leeds last time out,” he said.

“The support they gave the lads on the night was massively appreciated by everyone at the Academy and hopefully we can attract an even bigger crowd to watch the Under-21s in action against Sheffield Wednesday next week.

“Playing at the KC is a great experience for our youngsters. It's a great challenge for them all and one that they should all relish.

“We want the lads to enjoy the whole experience, so having supporters in the stands cheering them on would be fantastic, whilst it also gives the players an extra incentive to go out and impress in front of our own fans.

“Just like the Leeds game, admission is free for all season card holders against Sheffield Wednesday, so hopefully the fans will take full advantage of that and get themselves down to the KC to support what potentially could be the next generation of players to play for their team.”

I'll be going. I'm missing my fix today. I get the lad a Saturday job and he only sticks at it. Makes it so we cant do aways. Honest, hard working, in on time, refuses to leave early. The kids of today, honestly, I just cant fathom them out...

He must get that off his mother.

I take it your daughters not interested in replacing him as your footy carer?

Have many of the under 21 players been recruited since Pennock arrived or is he working with what he inherited?

Oh the irony (again). Pot-kettle-black (again). Do you actually believe you write as the Chairman of the Bored? Has it dawned on you that some of the other posters on this thread, and even more on earlier threads, have been subjected to very similar torrents of vitriolic abuse from you? Unlike most other posters, you seem incapable of engaging in normal banter, and instead seem unable to control your paranoid, vile bursts of personal abuse--some of it well beyond the margins of slander. I do not understand why none of the mods seems to have pulled you up before someone calls your bluff and takes legal action. Again, all of your comments, and all of mine, remain there, in print, on the web, for all the world to see. I would like to recommend that all neutral readers of this forum go to your profile and read how your vile personal attacks on me, as well as those of your "followers", are almost identical to your similar attacks on various other posters. As another poster recently commented to you: you and your little gang are not the owners, or even anywhere near the best posters, on this forum.

A ****ing Lancastrian, always too far Chazzz, always one step too far.

How does a thread that I started to drum up others to attend an U21 game end up being a mud slinging campaign?

The Under-21s are in U21 Professional Development League 2 action when they host Sheffield Wednesday at the KC Stadium (KO 7pm) tonight.

Tony Pennock’s Development Squad have enjoyed an impressive season so far in what is their first campaign at Category Two level, and currently occupy third place in the league table behind front-runners Huddersfield Town and Sheffield United. However, they will be looking to end a run of four league games without a win - three defeats and a draw - against the Owls.

Wednesday ended a run of three successive defeats in their last outing with a 2-0 home victory over Nottingham Forest. The Owls are currently at the foot of the U21 Professional Development League 2 table having accumulated 17 points from a possible 48 this season, although they do have games in hand on all their closest rivals at the bottom.

The two sides have already met twice this season - once in the league and once in the U21 Premier League Cup - with the Tigers coming out on top on both occasions. Matty Dixon’s last-minute winner secured a 3-2 cup win at Hillsborough in October, before Greg Luer’s second half brace earnee the Development Squad all three points in the league encounter the following month with a 2-1 victory.

    Ticket Info
Admission to the U21 Professional Development League 2 fixture against the Owls is FREE to all 2015/16 Season Card holders.

Season Card holders can enter the Cranswick PLC West Stand via turnstiles 23-26 in the south west corner of the stadium by simply holding their Season Card under the scanner as normal. A separate ticket is not needed.

For non-Season Card holders, general admission prices are £4 Adults and £2 Concessions. Turnstiles (Lower West Only) will open at 6pm for all supporters.

Tickets can be purchased in advance of the game from Tiger Leisure stores at the KC Stadium and Prospect Centre. The KC Stadium store will remain open until kick-off on the night of the game.

Fans are also be able to purchase tickets over the phone by calling 01482 509600, which can be collected at West Stand Reception on the night of the game.
