QPR will be aiming to extend their mini four-match unbeaten run when play-off chasing Ipswich Town head to Loftus Road on Saturday afternoon.

After an improved January, which saw Rangers suffer just a solitary league defeat on New Year’s Day, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s charges start February with a clash versus an Ipswich side chasing promotion.

Mick McCarthy’s men surged back into the play-off places on Tuesday night thanks to a last-minute goal, as Reading suffered the same fate as Rangers did at Portman Road on Boxing Day.

On that occasion it was defender Luke Chambers who scored the stoppage-time winner against the R’s – on Tuesday, it was Brett Pitman.

Ryan Fraser put Ipswich ahead just before the hour, turning in the area after Freddie Sears picked him out with a cross from the right.

Garath McCleary equalised from the penalty spot after Hal Robson-Kanu was tripped by Cole Skuse.

Substitute Pitman then combined with fellow substitute Luke Varney to side-foot in a winner with a minute remaining.

The win lifted the Tractor Boys back into sixth spot, leapfrogging Sheffield Wednesday, who were held to a share of the spoils by Burnley.

Following the closure of the January transfer window on Monday, Hasselbaink could hand full debuts to recent recruits Nasser El Khayati and Conor Washington against Town.

Fellow new addition Matt Ingram is again likely to have to bide his time on the R’s bench, with Alex Smithies enjoying a decent run of form in between the sticks in recent weeks.

Ryan Fraser (hamstring), Luke Hyam (calf) and Daryl Murphy (foot) should all be fit to face QPR on Saturday, despite picking up knocks against Reading on Tuesday night.

Jonathan Douglas is still suspended following his red card at Birmingham, while Dean Gerken, David McGoldrick and Teddy Bishop remain sidelined.

I like the look of the team proposed above and accordingly I'll be interested to see the names on the team sheet when this is communicated at 2.00pm.

Needless to say, it would make my day if we could break this habit of drawing and evidence an entertaining victory this afternoon.

Thanks for your hard work 9s greatly appreciated.

Like your line-up, but would prefer Chery instead of Conor.

One for the politics thread perhaps. Taken my kids swimming as usual. Bumped into Dave and his family in the showers! <laugh>

Now my way to W12, lucky omen?!

Not often you meet a Aston Villa fan and West Ham fan at the same time round our way!
