Giggs was never a leader though. Zidane was and so was Pep.

As for playing expansive football; Liverpool has been playing expansive football for how many years now? I would hate for us to become a team that plays expansive football at the expensive of playing to actually win. We need a team that plays to win before playing to entertain, but that's just me. It's much easie rto entertain when you have a winning mentality than the other way around. Arsene sells that sht to the fans about their bs playing style yet they pass up on several opportunities to do something credible on the trophy front.

totally agree .. Giggs is a legend .. but never a leader .. we need a leader like Sir Alex was .. someone who they fear , but respect and love too ..
if giggs want to manage any club, let him try elsewhere , he had lots to learn
Pep had done nothing special to repeat same experience in UTD, Luis Enrique is doing good too without experience , the difference is UTD dont have quality in that Barca team

Jose is "close to being the next United Manager". http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/jose-mourinho-close-manchester-united-7305628
So I guess Giggs has small percentage.:emoticon-0137-clapp

Really? What winning mentality did we have before putting in our most entertaining performance of the season against Stoke??

It's not a choice between entertaining football or winning. Surely you've learned that much from Van Gaal?

It is possible to have both you do realise that?

And like Van Gaal it's also possible to have neither.

Liverpool have been in the wilderness thanks to a poor squad and poor planning. Our squad is very good but we are in danger of suffering from poir planning. Very little of Liverpool's longstanding misfortune is down to what happens on the pitch.

With Arsenal their expansive football is glorious. The fact they bottle it is nowt to do with their attack is it? Stick a quality defensive midfielder in like Petit, Gilberto Silva or Viera and they win the league. It's always about the defence with them. That has little to do with playing expansive, free flowing attacking football.

It's not a choice between having one or the other. That's just the modern day Skysports myth that was embedded in the English psyche 15 years ago by the likes of Andy fckin Gray and that hairy knuckled oaf Richard Keys peddling the virtues of Sam Allardyce's one-dimensional muck to justify paying a subscription fee to watch them.

But looks like your players have woke up after Pep went to City.

Are they afraid of Jose after all? Blessing in Disguise??

There's a definite shift in our style alright. I can only guess it's down to Giggs.

I actually think Jose would look to play an attacking style at United (without compromising a solid defence)

I'm starting to believe it now, I wasn't sure because of the rumours but BBC are reliable.

    He obviously wants to.

I know a few Mancs who don't want him though.

I think you would be so pissed if Jose becomes United's manager. Admit it!

I think the secret with Jose is to keep him on a short term contract (zero hours if possible ) to stop him getting the urge for a big pay-off and ****ing up on purpose.

The Prem needs big personalities. Be great if Jose manages United v City/Pep (even if he is slightly damaged goods ;))

And best of all, we can write bus metaphors all season :)

Com' on now! You know how fickle minded football fans are. United fans would start welcoming Jose Mourinho home if he is ever appointed while Chelsea fans would start calling United "Bus United". :)

With proper players he would have no need to park the bus, remember his first two seasons with you lot?

Sadly, I have to agree with this.
Jose's first season back, he willfully delivered the title to City by playing Nando all the time.
If he can bench & pack off Mata, why cannot he bench Nando??

He waited for buys next season.
Nowadays - there is no upside to rebuild a club or manage to revive from the ruins.
Looks like buys are the only upside for managers!!

Brightest of two managers - Pep & Jose has confirmed the pattern above. This will continue for the next few seasons.

again agreed. So Parking lot OT then <ok>
