Funny old game ain't it. We were a Championship club and crumbled with successive relegations and Yeovil did the same albeit for different reasons.

I see the weather forecast for tomorrow is disgusting (or very gusting at least) with storms on the horizon once more. Anyone else getting sick and tired of getting up in the morning, opening the curtains to the rain coming down outside? It's bleddy depressing day in day out. The weather is likely to cause some disruption to fixtures once again. Don't know how sheltered or good the Yeovil pitch is but it's not going to make the play pretty to watch and is likely to make it a lottery of sorts. Carlisle are at home with a weather warning in place. Might be water polo rather than football.

How spoiled are we here...Vancouver Whitecaps play their home games inside under the dome with its retractable roof..
I would still rather be at Home Park with my cuppa and pasty...

Fortunately we have seats for this one; I presume they are undercover, otherwise you will get a very soggy match report at approx 2100 tomorrow! (assuming the match goes ahead which by some accounts is far from certain...)

I hope it goes ahead cause I hate it when we don't have a Saturday game even if it's away. Got a feeling there might be a couple off at least and it seems bad weather everywhere with gale force winds so every game that goes ahead could be a lottery rather than football.

Well that's that one bolloxed then. To be fair the weather is terrible and there are a few others that have bitten the dust or mud in this case. At least nobody has travelled for 5 hours to get anywhere and they called it off early enough anyway.

in true style we were literally 5 mins from the ground when it was called off. Just back home now. To be fair there was no way a game could have been played. It's a pity the ref didn't trust the forecast and call it off a bit earlier. The A303 is already pretty bad in a couple of places so wouldn't be surprised if it is closed later on.

And there's me up a 6.55am ready for the game..the website tells me the next game is Mansfield..no mention of the Yeovil game.
A little bit of detective work that told me there wasn't a game..
Hmmm now what to awake to go back to bed might as well make breakfast...

Better than having it started and than called off half way though as happened at Home Park a few years back.

Risks injury and knackers the pitch although the latter's not our problem in this case!

think it was 1-4 at the time against Barnsley?.I genuinely have 'never seen a night like it'. We left just after HT and walked through the park to the Barn park entrance and the water was thigh deep. Good job we only live another couple of minutes from the park entrance -we were almost swimming home.

I remember that one as well as my son's in=law is a Barnsley supporter and was at the ground for the match. I have to admit I thought it was 4 - 0 myself but the old memory aint what it used to be. Bleddy shame it got callled off and if memory serves we drew the replay 1 - 1 which made it even better. I also remember the Barn Park entrance and I wasn't 5 minutes from home with very soggy feet and a half hour walk. I virtyally got stripped on the doorstep that day as I was absolutely ringing wet and she in doors wouldn't let me in.

5 minutes from the ground lyndhurst? That's the trouble with you VIP prawn sandwich people, you have to get there early enough to empty the trough before the plebs get there. <bubbly><bubbly>

I forgot to say.....At least some of the other results were reasonable for us. A certain team with a W in it lost at home along with Pompey. Could have done with Northampton doing the same but not likely against York was it. Still we are more worried about 4th than first.

Looks like Northampton are up for it especially when they beat a struggling team as Argyle would probably had been lucky to get a point at Yeovil...this game now a must win if we want to keep that playoff gap ....avoid the playoffs at all costs as probably get Wycombe in final <whistle>

No need to go into must win panic mode just yet hp. I honestly don't think any one game is more important than any other. We need to keep in front of the 4th team and that's all we have to do in reality. Complete that job and we go up simples. Nortghampton look like moving away at the top so worrying about them is pointless now. They may yet hit the buffers of course. Next weekend there are a few more tasty encounters that could decide who ends up where. All we need to do is keep winning and the rest is academic.

With a full squad (minus Boateng), we must look to recover the form we had in the Autumn. If we do that, the championship is still possible because as Sensible always wisely says, the teams around us won't will all their games and some of them will have to play each other.

Other than a big game against Oxford, we've got what should be winnable games coming up and our last 2 home games of the season should be OK also.

Clearly there are no guarantees but all is most certainly not lost.

Hear hear notdistant!! I never meant we couldn't catch Northampton now just that they don't matter and it doesn't matter. If it got to the last game of the season and a win for us would do it then yes it would matter then but going up is the only game in town in reality.

New date arranged for the Yeovil game.

Tues 23rd Feb at 7-45 pm.

That means not so many travelling Greens on a week evening.
