Nothing offical on the cause of death yet. I read one saying something about a bear attack, but everywhere else hasnt released any details. So god knows what to believe.

Not a big name. Just another singer. Some may remember him from the 80's.

Black, real name, Colin Vearncombe, who sang Wonderful Life has died, 2 weeks after a car crash, aged 53.

That's the saddest of the lot for me (so far anyway!). I bought Jefferson Airplane's first album, Surrealistic Pillow, in (I think) 1968. A revelation.

    Did he write White Rabbit?

One of the strangest songs ever.

I think that was written by Grace Slick, the singer, Comm. Funnily enough, it wasn't on the British album, but came out as a single later. I don't know the reason.

Edit : Kantner did write the title song from their third album 'Crown of Creation', and contains, for me, two lines that sum up that whole acid-inspired age better than any other. "In loyalty to their kind, they cannot tolerate our minds. In loyalty to our kind, we cannot tolerate their obstruction."

That was the movement that, by 1975, had brought down President Richard Nixon.
