Ok fair enough. Suarez was up there with maybe 2 or 3 others. But that group were a mile above others in the EPL <ok>

If we look at the best attackers in the premier league top 6, we can plainly see Suarez is one of the best. I'd put him on a par with Tevez personally.

    Rooney, Nani, Young, Hernandez, Berbatov.
Torres, Drogba, Anelka, Sturridge, Kalou, Malouda.
Walcott, Nasri, van Persie, Arshavin, Bendtner.
    Johnson, Dzeko, Silva, Tevez, Balotelli.
    Defoe, Lennon, Crouch, Pavlyuchenko.
Gerrard, Carroll, Kuyt, Suarez, Maxi, Meireles.

Hernandez, Drogba, van Persie, Tevez, Defoe and Suarez.

Defoe definetly isn't in the same league as those 6. Drogba is getting progressively worse now.

Hernandez, van Persie, Tevez and Suarez.

Hernandez only got 13 goals last season, the same as both Carroll (injured for 2 months) and Kuyt (not even a striker) so I'm going to rule him out.

Which leaves van Persie, Tevez and Suarez. Personally I think Tevez and Suarez are on a par at the moment.

    Agreed Ze Bird <ok>

The trouble with RVP is that he is always injured so hard to have on the list, which is a shame to be honest.

Saurez deserves the credit given to him over the last few days for his performances, he was a better player at last years world cup over Rooney. He is the most selected player on the fantasy football league and as the op says, on current form he is one of the most recognised figures "at this time".

Now he may do extremely well for us this season, he may not. But the only way you can compare him to the likes of Tevez, Drogba, Hernandez and Rooney is at the end of this season with a full PL campaign under his belt.

13 in the league, which is amazing for a debut season in the premier league where he wasn't first choice for over half of it.

Drogba isn't getting much worse either, apart from having Malaria for most of the season I think he did pretty well.

Well that's your opinion. When Suarez has been the best striker in the league all next season and a fantastic one for the last 5 years he's been in the premier league, I might agree with you.

Who cares, it was a massive triumph for him to even get his legs in that shape, upside down and time it perfectly to strike the ball. Calling it a fluke is ridiculous as he obviously meant to do it.

I did not say it was a fluke of course he meant to score. But you are exagerating the truth..he wasnt upside down and he didnt time it perfectly

To get in that body shape was good but the execution was lacking... COZ IT CAME OFF HIS SHIN... !!!

Google Trevor Sinclairs overhead kick thats a WONDERGOAL!!! in- fact here is the link, enjoy.

Of course that is a fantastic goal, still saying Rooney's wasn't fantastic is ridiculous too. Rooney's wasn't as far away as that but he had to change his body shape to strike it with less time to react, due to it hitting Kompany in the back before it got to him.

13 goals in his debut season in the premier league.
Wasn't this Andy Carrolls debut season in the premier league and he also got 13 league goals.Yet Andy Carroll is dismissed,Is it because he plays for Liverpool?
Its like the ''Only Manchester United are allowed to spend big money on players rule''.If Man United do its good business,if anyone else does it the players are over-priced.
Get over yourselves, its not the Manchester United sponsored premier league...its a competition. Therefore its dog eat dog, competitors are allowed to slit their rivals throat if necessary.

    First season (Full seasons)
    Torres: 46 appearances; 33 goals. = 0.7174 goals a game.
    Hernandez: 45 appearances; 20 goals. = 0.4444 goals a game.
    Carroll: 19 appearances; 11 goals. (for Newcastle) = 0.5789 goals a game.
    Rooney: 43 appearances; 17 goals. = 0.3953 goals a game.
    Tevez: 48 appearances; 19 goals. = 0.3958 goals a game.

Finally, to put it into proportion. 2009-2010 season at Ajax... Suarez: 48 appearances, 49 goals. (including 6 in europe).

Your strikers aren't nearly as good as you think they are.

Yes, but are you taking into account how many minutes he spent on the pitch and how many of his appearances were substitute ones? No your not. Hernandez didn't start up front until the last couple of months of the season so often had sub appearances.

I'm not dismissing him, I think he's a good player with a good future, not a £35m future mind. He is already adjusted to the English game however in a team he was already settled in which he started up front for the whole season.

    Excuses Excuses.
Hernandez scored the same amount of league goals as Andy Carroll....FACT.13 11+2=13.
In Fernando Torres first season in the premier league he scored 24 league goals. He still holds the record for most league goals by an overseas player in his debut season.

What do you mean excuses, excuses. It's pure facts, he didn't play as much as Andy Carroll, had much more to adapt to yet still scored the same amount of goals and in big games too. Who'd I rather have and who'd most teams rather have? Hernandez.

He did play as much as Andy Carroll.Andy Carroll played no football due to injury from the end of December until March and he still wasn't properly fit.
The fact remains they scored the same number of league goals. That cannot be debated otherwise.Personally due to Andy Carrolls size, and physique,I believe Andy Carroll covers more of a threat long term.I would choose him over Hernandez any day due to Hernandez being as one dimensional as David Ngog.

What makes you think any of the others didn't have the same amount of substitute appearances? When facts are not available, you can't be impartial and say "Hernandez had more substitute appearances.." It's just as likely Torres had the same amount of sub appearances. You only get 3 subs a game; when Hernandez, Rooney and Tevez all scored way less than expected in their first season I'm not quite sure they were all subs/subbed. <laugh>

Typical United fans making up excuses for their players.
Apparently Rooneys overall 1 in 3 goal return is down to him only playing up front for 1 season in 7 seasons. It has nothing to do whatsoever with him being as prolific as Dirk Kuyt.
He also didn't score for 5 months because he had personal problems.I wonder if a Liverpool player was shagging whores when their wife was up the spout, would they get away with having personal problems?...I doubt it.
