Matt Le Blanc has been announced as a new Top Gear co-presenter with Chris Evans, a bit left field.

The beginning of the end for Top Gear on BBC. The new version is in chaos anyway according to reports.
Chris Evans long term producer walks out - David Coulthard says no to doing it as he moves to Channel 4 / F1 coverage. The bloke who sacked Clarkson and now gone - moved to America. Thank goodness for DAVE and repeats of the proper Top Gear.

I bet Clarkson and co wont be able to contain the laughter at this news.<laugh>

What a way to treat such a quality programme mind. Talk about running it down. :emoticon-0114-dull:

I think he was involved in the American version of Top Gear that bombed in the states.

The American viewers preferred Clarkson - Hammond and May.

No it wasn't actually. Just had a look. In fact is was worse than having Matt Le Blanc.

Evans appealed to his listeners to apply even if they had no TV experience , he wanted a petrol head or someone with a relevant interest ,
All seemed quite interesting until they unveil some old american rope .

The Top Gear brand is so closely associated with Clarkson, Hammond & May they would have been better off calling it something else.

I think it's a great appointment. I like LeBlanc and I like Evans. It's good that the show will be new and fresh. Can't wait.

Just cancel the show now. There's no point.

The first show will get good ratings just to see what a post-Clarkson-Hammond-May Top Gear will be like.

After the first show, it will bomb. Guaranteed.

The real top gear will be on Amazon.

Bigger, better and more bad ass than ever before. The budget Amazon have given them blows top gears budget off the planet.

And it will fail spectacularly. A good proportion of Top Gear fans will be old codgers that won't have a clue how to watch it, many of those that could won't want to pay the cost of Amazon Prime especially if already paying for Sky/BT, and some just won't bother.

How old do you have to be to be classed as an old codger? At what age is someone not tech savvy?
