They seem to manage in Holland, Germany etc, where streets are cleaner than ours. There you tip someone a few pence and in return can use clean, well looked after toilets.
True, however it would be an interesting concept especially after closing time. An underground tunnel works for me ?
It's a right ball ache when you've been on the raz in the old town, then need to hike right across the town to the bus station ( the toilets there are also closed at night ) to get a bus to North Hull, ope, bransholme or sutton park.
There was the time when one of the doors, jammed shut for 20 years, was finally opened. There sat a skeleton, holding a hand-written note: Here I sit, broken-hearted. Spent a penny, and only farted. It's probably a true story.
I can well believe it. You went down the stairs. Turned left. Had a quick piss. Then got out. If you went straight on to the stalls, you were taking your life in your hands. TBH I shudder to think what you might have been taking in your hands down there. A real rain may well have come and washed the scum off the streets but most of it seemed to end up in those bogs.
!?! Alternative uses :- http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-21195519 Back of South Stand wasn't exactly a congenial place of easement either.
Our old mate Paul Gibson has an interesting page on the subject of local public toilets. And with that statement, the final nail is firmly planted into the coffin, of the young, hip and happening HHH. http://www.paul-gibson.com/streets-and-architecture/public-toilets-gallery.php
When I was about 10 I was told that some lad was attacked in Paragon Station bogs and had his cock cut off. Did this happen or was it a wind up? I think I avoided ever using them.
I do believe that that might be the single saddest sentence ever written on this forum. That's sad in the gay, uncool sense. Obviously HHH isn't sad in the mood sense. The clue's in the name.
This in one form or another is an almost universal urban myth. Unfortunately, I am almost positive that I remember a documented case of this nature occurring in the Victoria Square bogs. I hope I am wrong. Walton St also comes to mind for another tragic case involving a child.
It was worse in Kempton. There was no point going to the toilets behind the stand. At least the South Stand had civilised toilets.
