Off Topic Next Mafia game?

nah.... they will win if they do blab.. we all know if you were recruited you'd blab and say i'm dead but i won the game....

they'd have to stay mafia surely...

 

Another option is the mafia would have the option to automatically rerecruit or kill in the event of time travel.

Also if the mafia have an assassin who can kill e.g. 3 people, and who acts first and during the day, then obviously there is a risk to the town turning back time if 3 of their powerful roles have been revealed, even if they have a good idea who the mafia are.

Another idea, not just for this game but in general, if a town investigator acts one night it takes a full day for the result to be found and the person being investigated it aware of it. So if a mafia player knows they are being investigated they can make some plans rather than wake up and see they've been exposed.

 

I think some of these games have become too complicated for their own good.

The basic premise of the game can get lost when there's 87 pages of rules to read through, and most don't bother!

Keep it simple chaps, the fun of the game isn't in the level of detail it's in the banter and meltdowns on the thread when people start getting accused and defend themselves.

I mentioned it just to see if anyone else came up with another option. Would probably prefer to leave it a bit for me running one as I'm not sure how much time I could commit at the minute. Rolando did mention something about running a re-run of the werewolves game soon, but don't know how serious he was.

Doesnt need to to be a new game wih new roles every time either, nothing wrong with revisiting old ones.

The Super zombie one for example we never really got real benefit as the zombie got killed night one so would be good to revisit and see how that plays out.

Maybe the solution to that is the key role gets allocated to another player (who has no role or has had access to a QT board), if that role is wiped out in Day 1 or maybe 2 aswell?

 

With time travel...

Travelling back in time cancel's out whatever actions may have taken place. If the Mafia recruit, then time travel and keep their recruit (otherwise a innocent knows the bad guys). Do the Mafia get their recruit power back still or not?

 

Bollox to that, the more complicated the better. Makes for much more fun as people try to piece things together.

 

I would imagine it being you get the power back and can use it on the same guy again. But there might be a scenario where you don't care about the former recruit being a townie again and knowing who you are if you choose to recruit someone else instead like the town assassin.

The recruit has learned who the mafia are (or at least 1 of them) but the mafia also learn the town (or other mafia team) role of the recruit.

The mafia could have a recruit board where the mafia "handler" speaks to the recruit but the other members can be hidden.

About time we had a football related game really. I had a basic version written before (not sure if I've still got it) but I can't commit to hosting.
