What are the budgets of the teams you just mentioned, or don't you really know and are just guessing?

He had players playing qualifiers who were on their way out the next week. How committed are they? How much of a likelyhood is there of us spending on centre backs before we've committed to selling?

We're no a football team were a ****ing business

I think it's safe to assume that Spanish, Portugese and and Italian teams have bigger budgets.

Managing either Celtic or the old Rangers meant you were, and are, expected to win every game, score goals, win the league, the cups, AND get in to Europe. It's still the same.

Deila's team(s) have been abysmal in Europe, be it the EL or qualifiers, horsed by other clubs with a fraction of Celtic's budget, support etc, getting embarrassed consistently and repeatedly.

The team hasn't progressed in any meaningful way under Deila. The football, if anything, is worse than under Lennon, plus scoring goals in the Scottish Leagues has never been an issue so it can hardly be a positive ("...Shock in SPFL as Celtic put 4 past Kilmarnock..." ), and managers have been sacked for losing less games than 4 in a season.

How many times has he stood on the touchline, arms folded, with his jacket zipped up, doing nothing tactically to try and turn around fortunes on the pitch? It screams "I don't know what to do" every time a Ross County or an Aberdeen or a Legia Warsaw are getting the better of us.

And never having called for WGS or Lennon's head when everyone else was means nothing. This isn't a knee-jerk reaction, it's a sustained period, since he took over, where it's all talk and nothing else. This team has no bollocks about them and have, on the whole, regressed.

    ^^^^^ AKA Beelin'.

I'm not so sure, some of the teams you mentioned might be on the bones of their arse and didn't spend.

Not as much as they used to. The Chinese teams seem to be able to pay the big bucks though which is weird considering they devalue their currency so they can export goods, not to import football players.

That Chinese situation is mental - but I still bet there wasn't a chairman there who was stupid enough to pay 12 million for Andros Townsend

I suspect you are right about Spanish teams but have you seen the way the telly cash is divided there. Barcelona and real get something stupid like 70% of it so the others are getting peanuts. I don't know what the scottish TV money is though

No way that can keep going, I would imagine in a few years there will be stories about players not getting paid and clubs going bust.(no childish Rangers jokes please!)

I liked the idea of Deila: unproven, young manager, with a possession-based footballing philosophy, coming in and making Celtic a better footballing side using youth and modern training methods, along with an overhaul of player diets etc et al.

But it's not even worked out like that, not even close to it. It's a failed plan which needs to be cut short ASAP.

Not seen much of Celtic this season but did see last night's game and it was all rather shambolic to be honest. Reminded me of the worst of Ally"s performances as a manager.

Sure for the first half hour it was all Celtic but I can't remember them having one decent opportunity during that time. After Aberdeen scored Celtic seemed to fall apart.

Broony was running about trying to batter ****s trying to get sent off and GMS must be the weakest pro footballer I'm the UK, a sudden gust of wind would blow the **** over.

Ronnie's substitutions were mental. Armstrong going off at half time (even though he was booked) was inexplicable. He was probably Celtic's most direct player throughout the first half. GMS was having a stinker as was McGregor. Lustig is another that doesn't look interested anymore.

Ronnie, imo has lost the dressing room. Too many chiefs and not enough injuns bhoys.

    Just saying like.
