0-0. Versus Chavski? Gomes MotM? Doesn't really tell the story. We were playing against at least 13. And for one sublime quarter of an hour or so I thought I was watching Barcelona. Some incredible football. If only that egotistical twat that is Mike Dean had done his job even remotely near properly....bear in mind I have yet to watch it again on the telly. And I've had a beer or three
Well the Ref certainly seemed lenient towards Chelsea. Costa should have been booked for the Prodl incident and again with Paredes would have seen him gone. Also my eyesight must be failing because I was sure the linesman failed to give at least 3 offsides. On a nice note Willian at the end high fived Watford kids by the pitch edge and possed for photo's, let someone feel his hair and gave his shirt to a young fan. Appeared to be a genuine good guy.
Well played again Mr. Gomes .. love his spirit / personality. getting close to being my favourite all time Watford player ( along with Deeney ) . In my opinion , Gomes is the best signing of the Pozzo era .
I hate being critical of our players, especially one who has scored so many goals, but I do wish he'd pass a bit more sometimes. There were a few occasions last night where i thought if he had done we could have been in.
The Chelsea plan is to let Diego Costa provoke a reaction. When someone does this to him they don't like it. Except for being a bit silly well done to Juan Carlos Paredes for upsetting the upsetter. Perhaps he will start a fashion for clubs to poke at Diego Costa until he is sent off.
Interesting to see that the Telegraph today has a piece stating that Costa should have been sent off 11 times this season, but gets away with it.
I agree. The other one who has had an outstanding season is Ben Watson. Played really well again last night I thought.
On his own up front last night, especially in the second half I thought Ighalo had a bit of a mare. His passing and sometimes his lack of passing was really poor. Don't get me wrong I'm a big fan and we wouldn't be where we are without him but he could be way up on the list of assists if he looked up occasionally. We should have pushed Deeney, up front and swapped Iggy for Ambarat or Suarez for the last half hour might have stopped the ball coming back at us quite so quickly !! Oh well so much for sharing my coaching experience, on to Spurs on Saturday and at least another point ?
Fully agree . But that selfish attribute has paid dividends this season . I'm guessing most of us believe Iggy will be moving on this summer . I love celebrating his goals with his song , but if the transfer fee is circa £ 30 m plus , that will be good business and I have faith the Pozzos will find a suitable replacement . ( would not complain if he stays with us for many more years and keeps banging them in ) . I just feel he is not a Watford player in the same way as Deeney and Gomes ..
