You could always park in the nearest village and meet there John, I think it'd be Ferrybridge and it's just down the road from the services
If Powell starts, Bruce will most definitely upset the camp. I say we bring Powell in. If Akpom isn't pulling his weight and stick Diame back in midfield. thought Aluko looked decent (in his natural position) against Bury!.... God we have a good squad! Hay! That rhymed!!
Just personal opinion, but Powell has got zero chance of starting against Burnley! Brucey to stick with his tried and proven 11 of recent league matches with one exception, bringing Daws back in. I would take Curtis out although he's done nothing wrong in recent games, it's just that Harry is the one of the centre backs who least deserves to be dropped. I want to see more 'Harryesque' tackles as per QPR away at Turf Moor! That said if Brucey goes for experience and picks Curtis I don't think on current form anyone could argue with that (apart from Harry)
Will be interesting to see how we set up against Burnley. Its Burnley 3rd big game in 7 days whilst the majority of our team will have rested for 2 weeks. Let's hope our performance reflects this.
It was a tough game by all accounts. It certainly wont hurt our cause that Burnley had this game last night. The 1-1 scoreline was most helpful though.
Even though IMO we should stay as we were @ Fulham, I just wonder if SB will bring back Dawson in for Diame. ?? As you say we will be fresh legged and a high tempo game wont suit Burnley towards the end. Burnley play 4-4-2 and subject to any injuries from last nights Wendles game we know what team Burnley will start with. Something like this for us.......... .......................McGregor..................... .....Maguire.....Dawson(c) ......Davies Odubajo..................................Roberston .............Hayden.........Livermore.............. ....Snodgrass................................Clucas ..........................Hernandez............................ Just thinking about the options for the bench - jeeez, we have a quality squad now. I Don't see anyway that the back 4 from January should be dropped. A slight tweek yes but only slight. imo.
Changing the formation would be a far, far bigger tweak than any one change of personnel (such as Dawson for either CB).
Against one of the better attacking teams in the division we need our best defence. And in particular if Burnley carry much of an aerial threat Dawson is essential anyway.
I'd like 3 at the back so we can have 2 up front! Think robbo would end up to near to clucas with your selection though!
can`t foresee many, if any, changes to the team that beat Fulham, as suggested Dawson does bring a certain calmness to the back four and i`d be sorely tempted to bring him back, I too think that he will be brought back in the only change, for the `big` games you need your `big` players, suspect that Davies will be the one to make way although as said he hasn`t done anything wrong, the rest who have been rested will be unchanged.
I see you work on the same philosophy as Bruce, how about we play as we always do, with 2 central defenders and two attackers, instead of going for the point and losing 1-0. How about we go about things the way Leicester do and have confidence in our defenders and just go for it on the break!! it's never done Leicester any Harm! We need to change the way we play away from home! Im not saying we always play 3 at the back but it wouldn't surprise me if Bruce went to every away game with the 'lets grab a point' philosophy and just look at our away record. F**k off given the opposition respect, we can beat this team 3-0 (as we already have proven)
I would meet your friend at the xscape (near Freeport Castleford) I don't think there are any parking restrictions and it's only another junction or so further on.
I never said have an extra defender, I just said Dawson could be needed. There's no way I suggested we only go there to defend.
Why on earth would you change from a formation that has just won the last 6 games on the trot! Dawson in for Maguire & possibly Meyler in for Hayden to nullify Barton. Otherwise the same team and formation.
Surely, if Powell even appears on the bench at Burnley, that'd send a poor message to the lads? More likely he'll get a coupla games in the U-21s first?
