As with many things in life…. you need a bit of luck… in business even more so… maybe that was ours.. I'd love to see him get to 25..

I like this quote, think I'll get it framed!

In retrospect, a bit of a 'pane' really!

So with those prices then and dynamic ticket prices. Are they going up the nearer a game gets ?

Bruce made it clear, I think it was probably in the early season transfer window, that the only clubs that could afford his wages would be top tier or those at the top end of our division. The latter could be rivals to us and the top division just wasn't interested. That's how we were stuck with him.

not sure been stuck with him is quite how it is.he is a decent player.to be honest i feel a bit sorry for him that he cant achieve the level of past seasons.i agree with others that a fresh start is just what he needs

I would say they go down if they aren't selling. Though there won't be many left for cheap prices I imagine.
I ca just heat the cries of "rip off" and "unfair" in Hull at the thought someone might have got something a bit cheaper. Any hanging on until the last minute and then losing out being especially indignant.

this talk of playing Clucas as a striker is twiddle, it never works, Richard Garcia, Aluko, Diamé recently. besides Akpom is on form again & Diomande looks a decent larker, we'll see what Powell offers.. they would all play up top before a midfielder

They've got 24000 season pass holders. Good going. But anyone who knows Derby, I worked there for 6 months, realises its a proper football city.
Christ loads of em still go to Cala Millor in Mallorca on holiday cos Cloughie used to go there all those years ago.

I have always said Derby is a proper football city, Chazz. The whole city regards them as their team and gets behind them, including the local media. No one hoping they fail and laughing if they do.
Those old enough to have been to the Baseball Ground will agree the atmosphere there was amongst the best they experienced.
We also got our best ever song off them in the 1960s...

I stayed in the Heritage Hotel in Derby a few times. I was told Cloughie used to make the team all stay in there the night before a home game. He used to make em all have a few beers before they went to bed.

That sort of reminds me of a story my Dad told me that during the war he got a bad case of dysentery when he was in Egypt, and was hospitalised, and as part of his recovery he was put on Guinness to build his strength back up.

Aluko is a decent player at this level but only seldom have we seen any flair for finishing which to be fair would not appear to be his forte.

Except he has played as an out and out striker in past seasons. After all, we're talking of using Powell as a striker and he's a bloody CAM.

Why would we break up the Robertson/Clucas partnership, which is probably our biggest attacking outlet when we have 3 options other than Hernandez and Diame up top??

I'm not sure what his best actually is, that's the problem- I don't think we've ever seen it. Brighton in the Cup his direct running at opponents was good but the 'end product' isn't there and you wouldn't trust him to hit a cows arse with a banjo if he starts games. Impact sub and i'd give younger lads a chance on the bench over him.

That's obviously nonsense, he was one of our best players in the 2012/13 season and his eight goals in 23 games played a large part in getting us promoted.
